How am I producing this much threat?

While going through the slayer on atarxia's haven I noticed that if I was anywhere near the cats they would always attack me in preference to my pets. This happens even if I'm performing no aggressive actions, standing still, while invisible, and while shadow walking with stealth mode.

I'm using both an undead pet (tried all three) and the CR12 elf-tornado summon yet the cats bee line towards me even if I don't attack. I've even tried the skeletal archer and running in circles not attack anything myself to try and avoid them.

hmm, i don't know, but are pets supposed to tank for you? or is pet aggro = your aggro and your aggro = you are target?

Are you playing a warforged or a fleshy? Since you know, as a fleshy you're made of meat, rather than undead "bah! I'm a cat, i take offense at you trying to tempt me with bones, like some common mongrel dog!" or a whirlwind which is kinda hard to get your teeth into.

There seems to be something similar with the aggro on rust monsters, they'll almost always charge past the dwarf/half orc barbarian laying the smackdown with a maul to go for the yummy-looking WF in the back trying to look inconspicuous

Are you playing a warforged or a fleshy? Since you know, as a fleshy you're made of meat, rather than undead "bah! I'm a cat, i take offense at you trying to tempt me with bones, like some common mongrel dog!" or a whirlwind which is kinda hard to get your teeth into.

I kind of get your point and if I was visible, performing actions, or fully on the material plane I'd understand. However, it seems a bit over the top that it'll go for the distant, inoffensive, partially intangible, and invisible 'threat' over the thing hitting it around the head with a sword or lightning bolts though.

Next time I'm there I'll try with the troll summon.

edit: I'm playing a fleshy. I enjoy making things difficult for myself while computer gaming.
