I haven't been able to test it on Llamaland, but I assume that the change in spell crits will affect BB? Is it every time it procs it has a chance? Or is it the barrier?

SHhhh, they might hear you.
Leave my Blabe Barriers alone...... Wait up... is that a good thing? Anyone done the maths already?

Basically, does it crit as it has, or does it have a chance to crit every time a mob moves through it?

I haven't tested it on Lama either, but I can be certain that it will be an across the board change for spells.
It will only affect crit-fishers.
Unless you tossed multiple spells, waiting for one of them to be a crit, you will see zero difference in the long run.
If you were a crit-fisher, you will now be saving a ton of SP, because crit-fishing is now useless.
.
Actually, now that I think about it, it's actually beneficial in the long run.
Crit DoT spells often waste a lot of their damage because the mobs die quicker. So if a crit FW ticks 10 times, and it only take 4 of them to kill the mobs, 6 of those crit ticks are wasted and deal no damage.
Under the new system, less crit-ticks will be wasted, so your spells will actually be dealing more damage to the mobs than they were before.
The same exact DoT potential, but increased DoT in practice.
[the numbers here were just as an example]
.
all in all they can't tell me that calculating critchance for each tick of a spell is something good for the overall performance and latency problems (compared to calculate a on cast chance to crit)...
stupid move imo
Thelanis - Inferus Sus
Keeper Refugee - Exclusively playing WarforgedNursing IsFutile (FvS) - Unorthodox Behaviour (Kensai) - Bigbofo (Warchanter) - Nukelear Blast (Sorc) - Jurugu Fleshbane (currently TRing) - Reviving IsCheaper (Radiant Blaster)
Personally, I think it's a fine move. If the overall crit chance remains the same. Ultimate damage over spell time will be the same. In theory.

I agree that this change will only be a benefit to the game. Less sp spent fishing, while doing = to > dps over time.

I know it isn't exactly on topic with the OP, but I have to agree that I would like all my BB's to have a chance to crit a few ticks. Personally I like laying down 2 and running mobs in a figure 8 at higher levels. The chances I would lay down 2 crits in a row are pretty low (it's only happened on very few occasions). However if both are hitting for crit damage every few ticks seems like it would be a bit more SP efficient.
There is no lag. Just because you had none before and can't play now doesn't mean the server move had anything to do with it.
Because of the long cast and recast and since there isn't really any damage reduction against blade barrier no one really crit fished with it like wall of fire, so yeah, in the end it's pretty much a wash for BB. Getting a crit BB and having everything fall over dead without having to run them back through is pretty **** sexy though. It'll be sad to see that go.
