Question Best weapon for a 1-level-monk-splash character

Short version: my char has one level of monk, two levels of ranger, and three levels of cleric. I have zen archery as my monk feat, and will be using bows more than melee, when nobody needs healed. All future levels will be cleric. Even though I plan on using bows when not healing, when the battle gets close, or when I'm going solo, what is my best option for a weapon? Handwraps? Kamas?

The benefits I see are as follows:
    Handwraps
-only have to buy one to get a "matching set"
-don't need to buy extra bludgeon weapon for skeletons or oozes (I hate oozes with a passion)

    Kamas
    -you can get vorpal
-because you buy two, you can have multiple weapon effects

    Quarterstaff
    -higher potential for casting-related benefits

I know that the higher I go, the less my melee skills will come into play, but for now, which would be better? Will the answer change as I progress in levels?

Why do you care about using monk weapons with only one level of monk? Use Khopeshes if you can afford the feat, Scimis/Rapiers if you can't.

The characters that I build that have a monk splash normally(twf or not) use my +1 Shock/Frost(risa)/Pg Handwraps and I destroy things until around lvl 4-6 depending on Str and PA I start using Carnifex and dont put it down until the shroud.

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

@dkyle - trying to keep centered. I can get +2 wis or +2 str from stances if I remain centered. Either helps when I'm shooting, the wis helps when casting.

@chette - combat feats are primarily ranged. point blank and weapon focus: ranged (for AA), rapid shot from 2nd ranger level, going for manyshot and precise shot later. Any free feats would focus on casting.

@dkyle/jakarr - when you use other weapons, do you retain the monk armor bonus?

If you want viable melee DPS, using real weapons far outweighs a +2 STR. If you want to be casting, you'll want caster weapons (potency, lore, etc.) in your hands anyway. If you can get those in kama form, that would be nice.

Sounds like you should melee with a two-hander. TWF alone, without ITWF and GTWF, is not worthwhile.

Yes. The WIS bonus to armor does not require using monk weapons.
