Well, being that the code for VC comes from Gamespy, Turbine needs to scrap it and get with Ventrilo and implement their software for VC. Ventrilo has an autolevelling feature that works. It boosts low voices to a set threshold and lowers loud voices to that same threshold.

This has been suggested over and over again yet Turbine only gives the excuse that it's not their software. If Turbine is PAYING Gamespy for the VC software code then perhaps they need to stop payment until Gamespy can fix this. Either that or rip the code out, put in Ventrilo code, test it, and then when it's working, shoot Gamespy (I hate those people anyway).

/signed, I've asked for this so many times... anytime requested changes are brought up, in fact. Since I joined DDO... in 2006.

As it stands I have to just resort to squelching the people who scream into their mics so I can hear the people who whisper.

    Default It was suggested...

    We attack GameSpy.
IF EVERYONE that actively PLAYS DDO visits thier site, would it do any good?
The answer lies in whether or not we , as a gaming community, want to do what the people responsible for our game seem to refuse to do, & that's FORCE an alternate faulty company to address thier ancient lacking software issues by bringing these things into a modern system.
Folks, we could do this, and it would take a total cummunity effort, but there are those that would disagree simply because *referendum* doesn't work or is not in thier ability to participate. Frankly, Strong Business does what consumers ask, as they WANT the constant revenue flow from happy customers. DDO, get it together, tell GameSpy to advance upgrade & improve or change partners, There is already a large use of secondary software cause the current systemic flaw just plain suks....

    Thanks for reading....

still rather that the people who 'paid' them to put it in, for the people who 'pay' the ones who got it...

Meh already confused myself there. Thing is its turbines product (DDO) and they have a shoddy system inplace rather than get a decent one, so its turbines responsibility to look into it, not gamespy.

Gamespy are the guys taking turbine for a run. Turbine should step up.

Still looking for a whatsup here turbine, wanna comment?

I doubt they will say anything.

Gamespy probably had some slick salesman that locked Turbine in to a 10yr contract or something.....

just include a decent trimmed down GameSpy client if that's what they use for chat. This crud in use now is annoying.

Nice to Have Feature: keyboard voice toggle. "push to talk" or "always on" sucks. Sometimes I want voice on constantly for a set amount of time, then turn it off again. Having to go into the Options screen to do this is annoying. Trying to find the right system setting or hardware to make up for that is all that easy. But now I ramble.
