It really is kinda sad that not only can't you guard yourself against one very quiet and one very loud player in the same team, but you pretty much have to turn off all game sounds and music to have a chance of hearing voice in the first place.

When guy "A" is louder than a harley and guy "B" is quieter than a woman's fart... What do you do?
(Yes, ladies. I know.. you don't fart. That's my point.)
^^ Spoken like a true married man.. "Yes, dear."

Sliders for voice would be great..I am always turning my mic way down cuse
of the loud talkers,so all the normal/low talkers i never get to hear.
Plus theres always one guy who insists on talking threw the whole quest,
and usually its about all the gear he really really really needs.I dont need to hear that.

Every time I'm straining to hear Mr. Mumbles, Senor Speaker Blaster chimes in and just about blasts me outta my chair.

Though the general inaudible sound lvls from voice chat is kind of annoying too.

Argonessen: Jhanrae, Weisen Heimer, Chaard O'Nay, and more once viable endgame toons relegated to banking.
You know you are just baiting them to do that by saying that.
Yes, it is needed. I suspect the problem is that the voice chat is a closed loop they may not even have the code for. The voice chat is creditted to another company. I suspect they just bought the code with hooks on it. If that's the case they may not have an easy way to mess with it.but I'm sure many people could use this and I can't see it being too much pain to implement.
I could be totally wrong, but I can't imagine they would ignore someone that SHOULD be so simple and is so basic unless its not so simple for some reason...

I can't ever seem to adjust my mic on ddo to make everyone happy. One day it's too quiet another day there's too much gain and yet some other day everyone can hear my dog barking in the front yard but I'm too far away from my mic. Also I have the music and sound effects in game turned down low which is rather annoying because it's easier to play when I can clearly hear someone removing their curse in vod (so I can quickly toss a heal), etc.
yeah.. i might just actually use my mic more if i don't have to deal with one person b****ing that i'm too loud and another person in the same group saying that i'm not loud enough...

it is really annoying to have to deal with one person saying my voice is waaay low, and the next asking me to turn my mic down, especially when they are in THE SAME GROUP.... last night one person couldn't hear me, and the cleric was complaining my mic was too loud... after I cut my mic volume by 75%... the rest of the party couldn't hear me at all, but the cleric was still complaining I was too loud.... Ended up going off mic because of it.. luckily it was a quick quest...
