I am posting this on Thlelanis forums cuz its where I play, and many of you know me, or of me and may have heard of me bragging about my Brother in law.


A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.


Sadly he paid the ultimate price for his country yesterday morning.

I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens.
But I am in the military in the ranks rarely seen.
I have no rank upon my shoulders, salutes I do not give.
But the military world is the place where I live.

I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get.
But my husband is the one who does, this I cannot forget.
I'm not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line.
But my job is just as tough. I'm the one that's left behind.

My husband is a patriot, a brave and prideful man,
And the call to serve his country, not all can understand.
Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free.
My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me.

I love the man I married. Patriotism is his life.
But I stand among the silent ranks known as the military wife.

I am so sorry to hear that and I feel your pain. I lost a close friend, hunting buddy and cousin in Iraq in 2008.

My prayers are with you being on the side of someone making the ultimate sacrifice. I pray for all military personel and families in these trying times. Thank you all whoever is in the service or who has loved ones in the service.

As a former Vet who served in Three Wars, I can tell you that the things those young soldiers do, they do it without thought of politics or life. They do it out of Honor, Pride and a belief in making the world a better place for all (not just their own countrymen) Be proud of what your brother did and stands for. My condolences and prayers go out to your family.
