    Default Please don't do this!

I would like to humbly suggest to devs that they NOT send the Hooked Blade, as it is now, to live servers.

Up until now, there have only been 2 items on them with the property "limb-chopper", and both were extremely rare items that are very hard to get. One is from turning in all tome pages in the necropolis, the other is a very uncommon epic item from chains of flame. Unless the drop rate for the hooked blade is monstrously low (like much less common than epic raid scrolls in the desert) it is about to get MUCH easier for people to have a limb-chopper item. This is not a good thing. It is, as it stands, a very powerful effect and if it becomes more common will end up being nerfed. It is a good thing to have some, even if not many, super super rare, powerful effects that 99.99% of people will never have. Everyone can't have everything all the time. That is just stupid and it removes flavor from the game. This is one of those things that should be that way. Put something else on the blade and leave limb-chopper as rare as it is now please.

For the record, I do NOT have one myself.

Agree, disagree, discuss, flame, whatever. I just hope someone in development reads and considers this.

I would make Hooked Blade a binds to character on acquire and exclusive weapon. And just to be mean I wound add the vicious property instead of maiming.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this item.

I saw it.. and I was like...

"Wow, I don't see that ability a lot."

So I got on the Static Loot Thread, and sure enough.. two other places in game.

Neither one's actually a drop. Both are "Crafted", if you can call turning in the Tome of Legend pages an odd form of crafting.

Someone gave up a Skiver to make the one, and the other involves running Epic Chains of Flame, which.. well, can be un-fun.

Interesting choice, to take so many player hours worth of work and make it meaningless.

Color me ignorant, but what exactly does "Limb Chopper" do?

It slows mobs down. A lot. Including raid bosses, even epic ones.

As far as the weapon, I would suggest, for flavor, removing limb chopper and in its place adding:
    maiming, bone-breaking, and bleed

I think it's fine. Limb Chopper is fantastic, yes, but no more so than some other effects that can be found on non-Epic, non-ToL loot.

Furthermore, the other items that have Limb Chopper also have other effects that Hooked Blade doesn't. Both are keen, Unkor's Cleaver has Bleed, Vorpal, and Eat Jerky 1/rest, and Sever has Destruction and is a Daxe.

It is not so much that the weapon is over powering. It is that it will make limb chopper more available thus diminishing the value of these other weapons. Not to mention it would give the limb chopper ability an increased chance to be nerfed do to the fact that more are out in the game. Also how many of the non-Epic, non-ToL effects can slow a raid boss?

What makes you say that Limpchopper is a very powerful effect?

It appears somewhat powerful if you look at it in isolation, but actually using it in the game shows that it hardly ever is much good, especially compared to the other weapons you could be swinging instead.

Note that the Hooked Blade khopesh it comes on really doesn't have much else going for it: a +5 Maiming Khopesh is highly unimpressive for level 13 loot.

I am really not sure what I should say.

There are currently two threads active which both are practically saying: too much grind. On the other hand, nobody really need to grind for super weapons.

    I think:
Remove it entirely or keep it common enough. I see no game mechanical reason for super rare super weapons.

I was thinking the same. I've played this game for a while now and getting all tome pages to turn it into one of these very rare items seems like it was intended to be a very hard item to get.

I'd love to make an item with the effect, but at the same time it diminishes any reason to make a point out of getting all the sigils and then run the pre-raid for the tomes (other than for Skiver, but it's 'easier' to get the green blade).

I applaud that the devs want to use more specialized effects in the game and move away from pure elemental damage and dps but I hope it won't be on the body of it's previous work.

    Default limbchopper

Limbchopper does NOT work bosses or minibosses, however the vorpal doesn't work on epic but the Limbchopper does. The unkors cleaver is pretty pimp when you can slow epic trash attack speed and movement 75 percent and works extremely well in chrono. That being said I would have to agree that it has always been a very hard item to aquire, either by trying to gather all the tome pages or by running epic chains. In no way should such a powerful effect be so easy to aquire.

I say keep it, but make those other super rare items a little better - like increase the base damage dice by a step or something. Not that they aren't already better than this kopesh...
