I remember playing DDO perfectly on linux and windows a few months ago, but I recently switch back to windows 7, and it doesn't play. I reinstalled/repaired/whatever'd it quite a few times, installed netframework/directx and all that jazz. I've tried running all the programs in the folder in any and all ways possible, and that doesn't seem to work either. It just doesn't start. All my video drivers are updated and everything.

And please do not tell me my computer sucks too much to play it. I have played it fine before, relatively lag free actually. I'm pretty darn good at making sucky computers run zippy, and I get people all the time going "Herp da derp, you can't even run it."
Side Note: Are any windows services required to run this game? I have stripped windows 7 down to it's core, so that may be a problem as well.

I'm pretty sure that the Microsoft .NET Framework is required to play the game. I myself got on a tear, and started pulling out PITA, unnecessary components, and when I was done I found that I couldn't launch DDO.

I actually just got it working by simply installing the windows version of PyLotRO, which is meant to launch it in wine, but hell, I'll take what I can get. Horribly ironic, but awesomely hilarious.
