So, as many ppl on my server know I'm no longer in game due to RL etc etc I just can't keep up anymore, but I do want to find a game for PS3 that I can pick up and put down but that has something that MIGHT remind me ever so slightly of ddo.

I know I won't get anything too close but I don't want to play war games like Call of Duty:|

    Demon Souls, or Oblivion, maybe?
I don't have a PS3, so I don't know it's library too well - but the good things I heard about DS made me kinda want one. Oblivion, on the other hand, is very good.

If you haven't heard of it or seen it, BioWare just released the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate edition a couple weeks back.

It's the original game, the expansion and the 9 content packs which had an additional cost to add to your game. I think it's $60 and that's a real bargain considering Origins alone cost about that much when it first came out.

We have Origins, but if the Ultimate edition isn't under the Christmas tree this year, someone is gonna be in HUGE trouble and I ain't talkin' about Santa!

Dragon Age 2 is slated for March.

just a quick warning about demons souls, this game is DIFFICULT. it has an extremely steep learning curve and can be discouraging and unforgiving when you start out. that being said its combat is very complex and allows a great deal of freedom in not just attacking but how you attack.

I doubt it, very few ways to control something with that many hotbars using a PS3 controller.

I can't think of any, maybe Soul Calibur if it's on.

Yes I've heard this, it'sd alot about strategy not just go in and hope for the best sort of thing and it's a game for the type of person who likes to conquer not for the faint hearted in that aspect, I think it'd be a great challenge and I've also heard you can watch other ppls deaths although that may be going offline in the next 6 months it might be of help when I first learn it...

an interesting thing is that if you play online you can see where players died as you said and can plan ahead for a tough area, players can also leave hints that other players can read such as "bring X equipment" or "danger ahead". One of the toughest games I've ever played but also one of the most rewarding in terms feeling I actually accomplished something when I killed a boss.

Since you're already into 'Oblivion' i won't have to go on too much, but i found it to be excellent - graphics, D&D style combat and characters, lots of depth, all round a fantastic game (even on console :P) though the computer version is so much better (graphics especially if you have a decent rig are still fantastic even roughly 3 years after release of this game).

Yeah so far I'm enjoying the story I'm not far in at all but I can tell it's going to be alot of fun and it reminds me of D&D, so for that I am very glad

Get the unicorn and ride it!

I haven't played Oblivion in a while, but that game is great. Lots to explore, and I mean LOTS! Hf with it.

Took me a while to realize, but once u've been somewhere, you can instantly teleport out there from now on using a map option if i remember correctly, you'll want to do a lot of exploring, but once you've covered an area it will save lots of time to just TP out there (and yes, the mounts make life running round in the winderness a lot more bearable too)

    Fond memories
