Default Update 8 Trapmaking Workstation (And NEW spells?!?!?)

I checked out the update to the Trapmaking Workstation.
    VERY nice!
It uses the Mabar Festival trade-in tech.
    Here is a picture:

It actually TELLS you which spells are able to be used with the Workstation also. A very nice upgrade. These recipes matched up to what I had found in Update 7.....
    With one exception....
Which I found to be the MOST interesting thing about this (and is showing in the image). There is a recipe that uses a Level 1 Scroll of DAZE.
DAZE? That spell does not exist does it?
Are we getting new spells in update 8?!?!?!?

I did some more checking and created a Sorcerer and this Daze spell does NOT show in the spells that we can use.

Can a dev let us know what is going on here? Are we actually getting new spells? Or is this an error? Or am I missing something?

This. "Daze" is a lvl 0 spell in PnP. "Daze Monster" is lvl 2 and very likely to be the spell they're referring to.

It is not Daze Monster. As you said Daze Monster is a level 2 spell and is ALSO in the list on the Workstation.

This spell is separate and is a Level 1 spell.

Daze scrolls already exist in live, and have for awhile.

I have never seen or heard of one.
I also looked for it on ddowiki and the Compendium and didn't find anything on it.
    Can anyone else confirm this?

Daze I did actually find on a scroll one day.

It's actually a cantrip spell for bards/wizards and sorcerors. It's like daze monster but lasts even shorter time and works on lower level creatures.

    I have received a scroll of 'Daze' from one of the turn in collectors;
guessing it was either Giles Goodman or (Amber Vial Person) since they are the lvl 1 scroll-distributers.

Might be worth hitting them up if you want to try the trap recipe out.

fun fact: wizards can scribe daze into their spell books, but can't prep it because they have no level 0 slots.

Hmm, does this mean that my trapmaking guide now is obsolete?

So with this new toy from Mabar event, do you think it will be "Coming Soon" to the shroud crafting, sure would save alot of mishaps, and alt tabbing to make sure you got the right stuff.

If people like it, I think it might eventually replace everything, but it is going to take a while.

By the way, there is a new trade-in place in the Lordsmarch Place that is using this new tech also...

For general collectible turn ins? Oh, yes please! As long as they have a 'trade all' button as well, anyway...

It is not general collectibles. It is a bit different. Basically upgrading weapons.

They have been slowly adding the level 0 spells to the game, but havent as yet put them on anything but wands. No actually ability to use your spell points to cast resistance or acid splash or daze

Disrupt undead was introduced in the mabar event.

    H'mm. ok, slight amendment then...:

seriously, the interfaces for all of the collectible/crafting type stuff is SO bad that even if they only amend one portion of it it represents an improvement.
