    Default Typical spell DC?

I'm wondering what would be normal.

Currently my Human 18Wiz/2Rogue is Enchantment Archmage.

I only went to IV because I didn't see anything that going V would add more DC. Am I understanding this correctly that it Archmage V doesn't add anymore to DC?

My Mass Hold Monster DC is 39. Base 10 + 14 INT modifier + 9 Spell Level + 2 Eardweller + 1 Spell Focus feat + 1 Greater Spell Focus feat + 1 Archmage Spell Mastery I + 1 Archmage Spell Mastery II.

    My INT is 38. Base 18 + 5 Stat level up + 6 Item + 3 Class enhancement + 1 Human Adaptability INT + 2 tome + 3 Exceptional.

A +4 tome would add one more to my DC through the INT modifier.

Littany of the Dead would add +1 to my INT but that would only allow me to move around enhancements so I don't see this as a bonus. Maybe after I epic up a INT item this would be a factor but I don't have that quite yet. I also like the minor spell pen from the Eardweller.

I don't care to use Yug pots because they have too much of a penalty or DDO store pots because I don't care to spend the TP. House D pots are not reliable enough(can't just buy stocks of them) so I'm not factoring that in.

As far as I know, Eardweller and Dreamspitter are the only items that offer + 2 to Enchantment. Is there any others that I'm missing?

Other than the pots or epic items or TRing, are there any other items that up INT.

You can get another +1 from the reaver's napkin from Gianthold.

Doesn't stack with other item effects. At least that is what the description says. My DC already has +2 from Eardweller.

That bard feat is not passive so I would have to factor that feat in. I have played around with the planner and that feat but I don't like the results. Maybe if I go pure but I haven't figured on a pure Wiz yet. Really happy with the 2 rogue for the evasion and trap abilities.

other than eardweller and dreamspitter, you have two other options for boosting enchantment that i am aware of.

the epic staff of inner sight (you didn't specify no epics in this part, just in the int bonus - though the int bonus would also be available from the staff), and the staff of the petitioner (drops from abbott, also gives -10% SP costs). on a side note, litany + ship buff (or just ship buff if your guild level is high enough) could boost your DCs, or litany and a +3 tome, or of course +3 tome and ship buff.

Getting back to the question of Archmage V. It will give you +75sp and it will allow you to proc the Archmage TOD set, if you have it. All for 1 AP.

Epic Spectacles of Spirit Sight also give +2 Necro, +2 Enchantment Bonus. Not stacking, but it is another source. Of course, most casters make SP goggles, so that's why you don't hear about them that often.

    LotD+epic Diabolist Robe/epic Staff of the Inner Sight+tome = 4 potential int
Active wizard past life +1 DC
Active bard past life +1 DC
    Wizard capstone +1 DC
    Yugo pot +1DC

Realistically you can improve your DC by 1 without yugo pots, reincarnating or outrageous grind/luck.

FWIW, AM V also requires Energy of the Scholar IV which costs another 4 AP for only 30 SP. So you wind up spending 5 AP for 105SP and the archmage ToD set proc.

That looks about it, really. I believe the abbot staff has +2 ench/necro on it, but that's not going to be any higher than what you are currently using.

he didn't ask for better options than the two greater focus items, he asked for *other* items.

    I'll take other options though.

I don't have a lot of gear on my Wiz yet and I'm still thinking about what I want.

Haven't crafted much greensteel so if I can figure what gear I want, I can figure where to put that HP item. I think I need to move my Con Op but not quite sure.

I was wondering if there were a better enchantment focus item.

Those goggles sounded interesting. Haven't made anything for that spot and I've been thinking about DT armor. Currently using the Mabar robe for the + 2 to necro. Superior false life is handy. I have a Death's touch so I could upgrade that and replace the robe.

Also was wondering if my enchantment DC was in the typical area of a good DC. Not sure what epics require and have been thinking about taking my arcane in some.

That's misleading, since AM:V requires Energy of Scholar IV which is, well, 4 AP for 30 sp...

But yeah, the AM ToD set bonus is nice for it.

Yeah, I forgot about needing EoS VI for AM tier V. I Thought you needed it for tier IV.

What do you mean about the ToD set? I know what the set is, but how does it interact with Archmage V?

It requires AM:V for it to function.

I think you mean that bard feat is not automatic. It actually is passive. But I believe I understand what you meant. Yes, the bard feat does require a feat slot, but it is also better than Spell Focus: Enchantment. The side benefit of Spell Focus: Enchantment is that it helps qualify you for Archmage goodies. But that doesn't mean Bardic Dilettante isn't worth considering if you really want to crank your DCs. Now what truly sucks about the feat is that it has Prerequisite: You have to play a character with at least 7 levels of bard up to level 20.

I missed that in the fine print. Thanks!
