He said taking THF is useless on a barb, why? I am using 3 feats here in THF and wonder if they could be better spent somewhere else.

The reason for uneven Str and Con is simply cos I can easily pick up a +1 tome at level 1 and then hope for a +3 when I get to 20 raid completions (looted Madstone Boots on my 20th Revers so went for the only +3 tome offered, Dex), Also my guild ship only has +1 to each stat so no need to go even just yet.

I have a Min 2 GS GA hence why no imp crit. I also have (if it matters) a triple earth guard cloak and a +45hp goggles (decided Tharnes was only good for the true seeing and needed a second slot for a GS HP item (went guard first - noob).

Regarding Consumers post : Im guessing he is saying that theres no point going 2 handed on a barb because pure fighter is significantly better 2 handed currently. 2wf 18/2 barbs are about as good as they get atm sadly.

I have seen this sentiment posted, but then most calcs just say +glancing blows and ignore them
Does anyone have a link where people included glancing blows (damage + specials)?

Well, I have already crafted my Green Steel Mineral 2 Great Axe so will be going with THF and not TWF. Plus I prefer the big hits as opposed to double hits (for TWF).

Any comments on me taking such high Dex? Should I maybe put 2 points in Cha to help with my intimidation? I dont expect to be able to intimi tank everything, but do find intim a very useful skill, especially when solo-ing with the (still) stupid hirelings.

I've been thinking of a very similar build, and I'm on the fence between 18/2 fighter and something similar to what you have (the main change is I put 2 points in Int to get a high spot as well vs the Dex)

I'm leaning towards the 18/2 because I consider stunning blow to be a requirement, in addition to what you have. Figure IC:Slashing for the second one. Those combined with the Fighter haste boost will make for higher total individual and group DPS. Hurts to miss the Capstone, and the pureness that I have loved on my first Dwarf 20 Barb.

Also, not sure why you are using the +3 Dex tome if you are going for THF. Money would be much better spend on a Con or Str tomb, unless you plan on TWF.

Thank you, the reason for the +3 tome is that I got it on my 20th Revers completion. I already had the boots (looted on 20th completion lol) and dex was the only +3 offered. A +2 Con was also offered so could have taken that, but +2's are much more common than +3's.

As for no IC, no point in having it, from what I understand (pls do correct me if I am wrong) the Keen on my Min2GA gives me the same bonus as IC. I have not thought about stunning blow or anything like that, yet!

Ah understandable. I would def start with lower Dex (maybe 9 starting) if you have the +3 tomb in hand (and BTC i think). Besides Reflex score, which is not going to be great anyways, there really is no need for it if you are going THF.

I agree the IC is not required. I have a MinII axe now, and will be using that for a fair bit of the content, but there are a few bains (ie Elemental) or stuff immune to Acid where I will be using other stuff, and hate to give up that DPS it brings. I would allow myself to be talked out of IC, but honestly dont see anything much better.

THF is fine, however your a DPS class and are deliberately taking a lower DPS option if your going THF.

You may as well say I'm going to make a DPS character, but I'm going to start with 10 base strength. It is pointless.
