    Default adventure packs for monks?

I'm wondering if there are any must have AP for a monk char. to get/play through? I'm thinking of must have/very helpful gear for the monk class gotten via APs?

I'm premium and not VIP so money/tp is a bit tight, and so I also don't have access to all the APs.

I recomend the Sentinels pack because of the Jidz-Tet'ka bracers. They are +5 Armor Bracers with specials for Monks in the various stances.

I de-recommend any pack under level 12, where there are many free quests.

The Vale of Twilight pack is a little less attractive for Monks than other melee characters, due to the greensteel weapons. (But Icy Raiment is there too!)

I don't mind buying low lvl packs, I like the variety

also isn't there a really nice pair of handwraps in one of the necro packs? I remember hearing that multiple times, but I forgot which pack.

That would be the Devout Handwraps out of the Shadow Crypt in Necro 2. A BtC named set of metalline of pure good handwraps that can be an absolute pain to grind out for your character. Some unlucky souls have 50+ runs in there before they get that item.

I recommend you do *not* pick up Necro II over other packs for the handwraps alone. Or you will be very very disappointed and unhappy with your time in there. Although Necro II isn't as bad as Necro III... yeaargh! Tomb of the Tormented how I hate thee!

necropolis three, but they may be slightly less nice now (or rather, there may be more readily-available wraps now which are essentially the same). they're actually just metalline of pure good, which is needed for breaking DR on a fairly common type of raid boss (pit fiends, i think? possibly/probably also demon queen/marilith?), but as i understand it you can potentially find non-named DR breakers these days. not that i've seen any for sale/trade, mind you... or heard direct confirmation from anyone that they do in fact exist... so you should probably wait for more direct confirmation than me :P

Necro II will also get you from level 8ish to level 12 all on it's own. Not to bad while grinding out your wraps.

Grab yourself an arcane hireling and have at it.

Yes you can find unnamed Metalline of PG but the ML is much higher, even higher than other weapons with the same properties. Add of top of that that said wraps drop seemingly less frequently than the named ones in the Shadow Crypt. A Shinto Monk can easily forego these due to getting DR breaking properties as part of the PrE. They still need the Good part but they are much eaiser to come by.

There is also a nice set from Delara's Tome (sp?), but not quite as nice.

Well, as for other gear to look for, it really depends on some other information. Are you an AC duild (Wis/Dex) or a Str build? Though generally the Dark go Str and the Light go Wis/Dex that isn't always the case.

Are you planning on fighting with Handwraps of other weapons? In my opinion Handwraps are the way to go, but not everyone shares that opinion.

Here are the details in print:
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Sentinels_of_Stormreach
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Litany_of_the_Dead_Part_2

I have both, but haven't run through Necro II yet. Although none of my toons really benefit from the end rewards, Sentinels is very entertaining to run through!

I will never understand why ppl use icy raiments on a monk (that is NOT AC based).
DT-vestments beats them in every way.

    Imo pack for monks
    You want:
*Delara (holy+devotion), Necro 2 (metaline of pg), Catacombs (silver+ghostouch) - for wraps
Vale, reavers reach - robes (vale greensteal)
    Sands - spectrals, bloodstone/duskhart
    Necro 4 - minos
    Sentinels - bracers
*Edit - devils - 2 burst ring must have

    Could want:
    Threnal (flaming**) - wraps

One more pice of gear endles night wraps - lvl 20 + lvl 12

*Delaras have umd 20 or good
** these one power up flame finisher ^^
sum AC with bracers starting dex 15 wisdom 14 (+2 tomes) icy, spectrals or gloves +5, wisdom ring +5/+4...

    5 from bracers
    4 from prot
    4 from dodge
    10 base
    6 from dex
    5 wisdom
    34
and to top that out you can chug bark pots, have higher wisdom bonus (+2) from enhancments and item, ship buffs +4, shield clickie...
And eaven if DT is lvl 16 you wont probably get it good till 18 or eaven 20 lvl

Uhh... I dont understand what you were saying with those AC infos.

    DT can have Ie.:
    +6 armor bonus
    +4 insight bonus to AC.
    20% Healing amp
    10% healing amp.

    With that kind of buffs...

And remember that they upgraded the DT-rune system, so its very easy to get those runes.

On top of that subterrane farm runs arent THAT popular (in Ghallanda at least...) So its not going to be easy to get the icy raiments.

EDIT: Not having DT-gears at lvl18?? rune farming runs are very popular these days so its going to be easy to get the DT-vestments.

Vale of Twilight - great exp, 3 raids, greensteel. absolute must have
Devils of Shavarath - may be a little too rough for a new player but every monk should get his ToD rings at some point
Reaver's Refugee - makes last levels more smooth. DT armor
Demon Sands/Gianthold - great exp for the midlevels. DS for better loot, GH for more exp. get at least one of those 2.
Delera - lowlevel exping area. very good endreward list
    Osmand d'Medani, Stonebearer Eric, Wardreamer

ML 16, + you wont have it all at lvl 16 unless you are TR or you do numerous runs with youre guild if you are monk youll want jiztetka wich give +5 armor so +1 form DT isnt as much

With that kind of buffs... +1/2 wis and dex shrine kobold dwarf ac off 40 ish wich is good for lvl 14-16 solid AC

And remember that they upgraded the DT-rune system, so its very easy to get those runes. there are people who didnt rune after U7 reavers quests so they got their runes by farming - in pug i doubt youll get a 10% amp rune 20% + quests are usualy 17-20 on thelanis

On top of that subterrane farm runs arent THAT popular (in Ghallanda at least...) So its not going to be easy to get the icy raiments. people run in subT at lvl 14+ on thelanis

EDIT: Not having DT-gears at lvl18?? rune farming runs are very popular these days so its going to be easy to get the DT-vestments. if you dont run with frineds guild it can take some time... (ofc if you are been capped after U7)
    In Red

Imo before U8 and that up dice robe with heavy fort (ml12)- Icy will be youre robe till lvl 16 - or till you make youre DT
For DT i plan to put 10% 20% Ooz/Disintegration/Earthgrab/Enervasion Guard, resist protection dodge and maybee one threat for ToD
