i'm getting only a single shot every time on the heavy repeater rogue i just rolled up this week ;(

To answer the question, I never tumble on my rogue (lvl 9 mechanic, currently only using light's). The problem I noticed used to be (on my previous 20 repeater mechanic, now TR'd into...something else) that my bolts would simply disappear more often than they'd hit...thus the TR. I missed the broken repeater build so much I made another one to torture myself with. Now the problem is just as it was before, bolts flying into the nether instead of their intended target, AND the "repeater" no longer repeating...well, sometimes I get 2 bolts off on the volley...rarely...RARELY all 3. Again, I never tumble, but I'm often on the move. It's frustrating enough that I've tried standing still. The problems occur on stationary targets (a good example is getting repeated single shots on a giant who's stomping on the ground, obviously not moving), mobile targets, falling targets, angry targets, bloated targets, targets who's mother recently called complaining that they never hear from them, slow targets, fast targets, targets who like malted milk over...non-malted milk, targets with that new car smell, fancy targets, casual targets, mundane targets, furry targets, and, my personal favorite, rabbits.......OOPS, that's Asheron's Call.
So you see, in summation, the problem, for me at any rate, occurs when I use my light repeater...on just about any target...except those that I couldn't otherwise hit due to them being, oh, let's say, on the other side of a wall...in the pantry, next to someone important whom I wouldn't wish to hit with a stray +3 Deneith Bolt...and on and on, ad nauseum.
All humor (or lack thereof) aside, I tried to get a repeater build to work (work = not frustrate me), but I ended up TR'ing the guy. I'm trying again, and I'm about to make him a dual wielding fellow since the problem(s) appear to be worse than they were pre-U7.
TLDR: Have same problem as other people...me no tumble...me pull trigger...sometimes move about. NO TUMBLE! NO!
...that is all.

My TR is on indefinate hold until they correct the problem. Turbine seems quick to nerf things with no problem (ie:waves of exhaustion/fatigue) but when it comes to correcting broken game mechanics like repeaters and half-orcs two handed swings it takes months or even years to get a response. I thought they were on the rebound but it seems old habits die hard.
Can't be classified as a "fix" if it wasn't broken. It is therefore a nerf!
Let me list the things that are "broken", "fixed", and still "broken".
1) Fear spell - bug reported, turbine fixed by incorrectly making it an aoe instead of cone effect, bug reported again while on Lamania, no response, still broken. Duh...
2) Half-Orc Swing - Broken, fixed, still broken, fixed, still broken.
3) Held, Stoned, Paralyzed Creatures moving - years of bugs reported, finally fixed, still broken.
4) Repeaters - Nerfed way back at the beginning of the game, broken, fixed, new sound added, now far worse than what the original bug. Repeater virtually unplayable.
So yes the wave fix was quick. It took all of three months and I think that was more of a implementation thing so as to quell our vengeance. I am at a loss by what they accomplished other than taking yet one more thing away for the arcane genre.

I'm sure you've all noticed our evil counterparts and their evil use of the repeater...It's baffling to me how Orthons are brutally accurate with the repeating crossbow and every bolt fires. Can this mechanic be applied to OUR use of the weapon? Although, I've noticed that Orthons fire a three-round burst, and then a single shot...perhaps their mechanic HAS been applied to us...but got all garbled. I'd almost prefer a three bolt burst, then one, then three, then one......IF I knew it was going to work right! This is not an answer to a broken mechanic, however. Stomping our expectations into the dirt so we'll accept anything less than what's described is not getting things right.
The part that's a real shame is...what am I supposed to do with a Dex/Int build? I guess I could farm shards and visit Fred every three days until I'm something else...or maybe use Midnight Greetings...which won't work well on things like undead, and don't break DR in later levels. It's a shame that this character who is so much fun to play, has to get shelved.

+1
I think orthon bursts are 4 shots, but regardless, I really like your idea about burst fire. I would be okay with a 3-4 shot burst... IF the shots would all get rolls on the target (or targets for improved precise). This would force the reload animation at the end of every sequence, and you wouldn't be disrupted by the reload erroneously mid-sequence as it happens all too often right now.
It would also be nice if the reload animation was interruptible by actions other than firing, say for things like wand/scroll healing, drinking potions, casting spells, etc. You would still have to do a full reload before each burst, but at least you can react to stressful situations with the needed actions instead of being forced to fiddle with your silly crossbow.

So, my rogue is now 20. No longer a repeater build....I crafted a pair of epic midnight greetings. So sad. I'm about at the end of my rope with turbine's inability to maintain their product and brutal lack of any attention to detail. I'm the schmuck, really. I played Asheron's Call for several years and thought maybe DDO would be different...but it's the same slow development, unbelievable ability to ignore/deny problems, and, astoundingly, bad balance between classes. In AC, there were 2 good builds but MILES of choices to make. Same here. You can be a ranged dude if you want, but you'll be hobbled by your choices, while melee, firewallers, and BB toons run circles around you.
I'd like to say I'm going to come back in 5 years to see if there's been any improvement...I did this in AC, and the game was almost exactly the same as it had been a 1/2 decade before. I'll be damned if this game has a monumental amount of potential, but that potential is caged and beaten repeatedly. I just don't know what's holding development back...lack of man/womanpower? Lack of funds? Weed? I want to keep playing, I really do, but I curse my own choices (I direct these curses at my cat) every time my character rubber bands, bolts misfire, I crash into the desert/marketplace/random dungeon, my weapon slices right through a mob and then it runs away unharmed, I can't tell if my weapon has icy burst after farming coins for days, I look at my Madstone Boots which promise a 20% melee haste but don't, I try figure out how in the HELL the Scourge Choker is supposed to work, I lag, I Lag, I F'ING LAG.
Hmmmm...I feel better now, about going FtP and uninstalling the game. Goodbye DDO! Helooooo Hello Kitty Online!

Oh...Necro post!!
Anyway. I've found repeaters to be more reliable than they were a few updates ago, so I consider it an overall win. There's still a bit of wonkyness. I'll pull the trigger and it will sound like all 3 shots are fired simultaneously, and only 1 or 2 attacks will be rolled.
Hopefully in the next update they can fix whatever lingering issues are present.

My Rogue uses a heavy repeating crossbow and I do have some issues when using it. I do occasionally fire less than 3 shots before a re-load at times. However, the worst thing is the delay I often get between when the bolt lands and when the damage is calculated. There's often a delay up to a full second after hitting a target before it is affected. That causes me to want to hold up and not fire another bolt while waiting for it to be applied, which often costs me half of the distance between me and my enemy. This odd lag only happens with that one character. I have a Ranger who uses a longbow and I never suffer the same delay.
