I just wish people (who probably can't PvP well) would stop with that tired old rhetoric of "not meant to be PvP" already.

PvP is in the game. Get over it. Don't like it, don't have to participate in it. Never mind the OP and rest of their threads, some of us do enjoy PvP and want it to be improved.

Why should Turbine not make the effort? We're paying customers as well. Why should they not listen to PvP-fans and only to what you PvP-haters want? Does your dollar count more than ours? If so, where is the line drawn? A purchase of $10 worth of points? A VIP subscription for 1 month? 2 months? 10? pfft

Stop with the "not worth wasting development time on" because there are players who give their money to Turbine that would like to see the aspects they enjoy, improved.

I don't hate PvP, mostly because it's hard to hate something that you haven't ever bothered with and don't have an opinion on. I don't care whether or not anyone else PvPs; in fact if you enjoy it I encourage you to participate. I will continue to not participate in PvP by choice.

What bothers me, and you will notice this is also what I said in my post, is people that expect each class to be perfectly balanced against the other classes for PvP. This isn't a PvP game, despite the fact that it does include PvP, and balancing the classes for PvP throws off the balance of the player character class mix against the mobs in the world. PnP D&D isn't a PvP game - as anyone that has played can tell you the character with the most magic will usually win in PnP D&D.

Why is it that the standard argument of PvP fans is always "you doods hate PvP because you suck at it and you're not uber l33t like me?" Maybe I suck, maybe I don't but the world will never know because I choose not to participate in something that doesn't interest me at all.

Drow can have 30 SR without enhancements after Update 8? WHAT?

That's what they actually always should have had. It's about time they fixed a Drow feature that has basically been wrong since release. And its hardly overpowered considering a L20 cleric can cast 32 SR.

Suggestion: Stop making PvP so one-sided towards anything with a bow!

This change has very little to do with PvP, its about fixing the Drow so there is a reason to be one. Most people have moved away from drow because aside from two or three builds, you are pretty much always better off with any other race. They are fixing this for PvE, which is the point of the game. If it bothers PvP in some little way, who cares.

Caster lvl 18 with +2 to spell pen via enhancements which makes my spell pen 20. I'd have to roll an 11 after Update 8.

Maybe one of the perks to the Sorcerer PrE if they ever make it could be bypassing all SR!

3 wizard past lives will give +6 spell pen. So no, they are making that Wiz flavor, it shouldn't be part of sorc PrEs - and complete bypass would never make sense in any event.

If you can develop code that would not only run separately, but also that will not require any re-balancing of PvE, then less people would have an issue with it.

I would add to that "if they started charging for PvP access" so that it also created a new revenue stream to provide a new programmer so that such development time wouldn't take away from PvE dev time.

Maybe made all PvP pits a single adventure pack for say 1995 TPs. (Actually that might be too low...)

How would you know? You have a FTP join date.

The population had stagnated, but I never found any grouping problems and I pug at least half the time.

The population is up, but that hasn't improved grouping (actually its made grouping much worse in several ways) so much as it has increased Turbine's revenue stream (which is a good thing)

D&D is not, never has been, about PvP.
It should not even be here.
It has been implemented in a way that has not had any impact on the base game.
Most of us tolerate it's existance because of the previous line - and Turbine's promise that it never will.

One of the many valid reasons we didn't want to see PvP in any form in game was exactly what we've been seeing too much of the past few months.

I'm beginning to think Hax is right and we should follow his recommendation to remove PvP from the game so that people aren't confused into thinking its the focus of the game.
