Gonna take some time to digest how this could affect various builds, but this certainly changes Half Elf from total **** to definitely a race to be considered in various circumstances. Definitely looks like things are on the right track!

Yes. One thing that immediately caught my eye - monk taking cleric now = tasty heal scroll usage at lvl 15.

The barb one is quite nice too for those half elf wizards who only get that option.

I'm assuming that the attribute bonuses don't stack with other class-based attribute bonuses but I'd love to be wrong about that. If they don't stack, it doesn't many builds at all.

Half-Elf Paladin taking Cleric dilettante on a Heal Amp build and having 95% heal scroll usage without UMD... Hmm.

FvS not Cleric....unless you want to gimp your pally with 13 wisdom at creation :P

Human is still hard to give up for that extra feat...

It is, but say a pure pally or a pure monk with awesome heal scroll options... definitely a perfectly adaptable choice.

Or a TWF Fighter taking the Rogue line... massive DPS potential increase. I don't think these lines are make-or-break, but they do make the Helf valid, and open up build options, with trade offs that aren't total jokes. I like options.

Can anyone fill in the details on what levels these enhancements become available, how much they cost and some of the numbers that are missing? (elemental resistances, bow strength, healing amp, toughness ... )

I'm particularly curious about the bow strength

FvS would only have 85% success on Heal Scroll. And besides... probably be a THF/Sword'n'Board build anyways.

Barbarian Dilettante: Nice option for any class without a toughness enhancement. Extra bonus with the CON enhancement.

Bard Dilettante: I’m not seeing a lot of value here for the enhancements. You already get the wand benefits from the feat. And most of the good scrolls can be gotten with another dilettante feat with a higher level of success. Suggestion for improvement: Grant a "Virtual" UMD score of 6/9/13 at each tier and/or a +1 feat bonus per tier for players that have UMD as a class skill.

Cleric Dilettante: Probably the strongest of the divine caster dilettante feats since clerics get quicker access to scrolls like Raise Dead and Heal.

Favored Soul Dilettante: IMHO not as good of a deal as the cleric dilettante. Your Scroll use % is always going to be 5% worse than the cleric. Suggestion: Give access to some minor energy resistance enhancements.

Fighter Dilettante: Nice option for any melee class w/o a tactics/STR enhancement. Paladins appear to get the most benefit as they don’t have either and could actually rock the armor enhancements. Stunning Blow using Barbarians benefit too.

Monk Dilettante: Nice option for any TWF/AC build with a limited WIS score. (ex. Paladin, Ranger, Rogue)

Paladin Dilettante: Really strong option for Barbs, Bards, Favored Souls, Fighters, and Sorcs so long as you can meet the entry requirements for the feat/AP's.

Ranger Dilettante: Really hard to see a good option here. Suggestion for improvement: Allow Dilettantes to get Ranger Tempest I (Still costs 4 AP, Must meet all feat prereqs, locks out other ranger enhancements.).

Rogue Dilettante: Nice option for any melee.

Sorcerer Dilettante: OK option for someone that has divine spells covered. Kinda meh in comparison to the wizard dilettante though. Has the same drawbacks as the FvS dilettante in that scroll usage is 5% worse. Suggestion for improvement: Have the Dilettante chain emulate/lock out the Wand and Scroll Mastery chain.

Wizard Dilettante: OK option. Since this feat/chain is limited to a fleshy race it could use some more usefulness. Still it's better than the sorc enhancements. Suggestion for improvement: Have the Dilettante chain emulate/lock out the Wand Heightening chain.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

But you are taking a feat that technically gives you 37umd for the purposes of Heal/Raise/Resurrection/restore etc scrolls and free wand usage.

Thanks for posting all of this info! There's a lot of cool stuff to try out!

On a side note, the title of this thread really freaked me out. I was worried that they had done something disturbing to the animation of male half-elves sitting.
