Quick look at Cauldron of Sora Katra (item combiner for Droaam)

Too upgrade a weapon you take one weapon from the update 7 quests and one weapon from update 8, along with a 3rd item called "Mark of X". With 4 different marks. Based on the names they seem to keep the stats of the base item and get a bonus effect from the add-on item.

The new weapons are Gnollish War Bow, Ogrish War Axe, Staff of Shadow, and Hooked Blade (a khopesh). The scepter can only be combined with the staff. The set bonus items use 2 marks instead of a 2nd item.

I'm a little disappointed that there is not a single dex melee item between the update 7 and update 8 quests.

Technically handwraps are finesse melee, but of course that does NOT count because you can only use them with a monk splash.

Also technically there was the Nat Gann quarterstaff in a U7 quest, which is finesse melee because of a special feature. (Of course, finesse characters really always want to use TWF, so a staff hardly does anything for them except at low-low level before TWF feats)

Great Axe. So the end options you can have are Greatsword, Great Axe, Handwraps, Long bow, Khopesh, Quarterstaff, Heavy Pick, and Falcion

Do you refer to the Battle-Scarred items, ie Katra's Wit?
Has anybody (ie you) completed an upgrade, so we can see the final product?

(Vengeful is a 10% chance to proc a 30 second Rage, like the spell. The Humanoid Bane means just that - everything on two legs. It hits everything Hold Person does).





Those four items I got as end reward choices when I ran the new quest chain, this last I got from a chest in the last part.



I also pulled one of the upgrade-bits from a chest there, but I forgot to take a screenshot of it, and I'm too lazy to do it now.

Wondering that too, but sadly I don't have a fleshie monk to try it out on... although it's possible that there's a docent version of it hidden somewhere in the quest; I only did it once. And the end puzzle (really quite simple) became too much for my poor sleep-deprived brain, especially when combined with some rather... intresting... mobs that you encounter there.

Yeah, I got that too. Didn't take it though, since I wanted to check the rage-proc on the axe.

Speaking of said axe, it's got a few visual bugs with it - namely, you swing it sideways. Two-handed weapons are modeled in the way that you hold the edge horisontally at rest, and this one holds it vertically whilst at rest. This means that you're actually bashing your enemies over the head with the flat of it (would that mean that if I beat up a Dragon with it, it'd become my friend/follower? /oldskooldndspergin).
