I know that 'A Cabal for One' is a bit of an unfair contest ... however what I wanted to show is that it doesn't make real Rogues obsolete, as some already voiced that fear! On the other side I expect a lvl 19 Mechanic Rogue - that I especially hired just for that job - to be able to deal with this trap!
The hirelings however did for example ok in the new lvl 13 Quest 'Operation: Summerfield' but at the same time not in the new 'Operation: Blockade Buster'. But yes, I guess I will try Monastery as well.
EDIT: Despite the fact that I really hate this stupid scorpion at the end, that has 'see invisibility', always run over the runes, a whole bunch of HP and does crazy amount of damage and the fact that hireling clerics can't watch out for a group and heal accordingly ... I did run the 'Monastery of the Scorpion' with a lvl 17 Hireling and he indeed found nearly all the traps (14 in total) on normal and was able to disarm them. For several of the traps he however only noticed them as I already run into them and several boxes are on the other side. The trap where you have to hover to the ceiling couldn't neither found nor disarmed which mean losing out on one chest.
So yes, they are capable of giving you the extra XP and a deal with the traps. Still they not make real Rogues obsolete!
