Is this a bug?

As i understand it the pally capstone is suppose to break dr/ good correct?

I ran a Eadq, pulled out a cold iron throwing ax, started tossing it around at the queen. I got yelllow numbers.

To test it further, i ran a shroud. Pulled out a silver scimitar (no other mods, just silver) and got yellow numbers.
then i pulled out a mettaline of geob and got all red.

Is this a bug or wai?

Yeah, the capstone doesn't apply good to ranged weapons. Read it's description carefully.

You do get the 3d6, though.

Paladin Weapons of Good: Any weapon you wield is considered Good aligned for purposes of bypassing damage reduction, deal 1d6 additional holy damage against all evil opponents and an additional 2d6 light damage against evil undead or evil outsiders.


It says any weapon. Should work with ranged too.

It does work with ranged. At least, I've seen it work with bows.

This is going to sound silly but.. the Capstone is an Enhancement. You did actually.. take it, right? You don't get it automatically.

Might want to flip to your character sheet's Enhancements page and make sure it shows up there as trained.

Maybe the mob had dr/blunt so your scimi's slashing didnt break through?

silver weapons seem to not always work. i know my holy burst silver khopeshes dont work on the vampire in shadow crypt which is very annoying. i think his dr is actually adamantite? doubleyewteeff? so metalling works but holy silver doesnt... lame!

also note the OP said his metalline GEOB was getting red numbers (ie passed dr) but his silver was not.. maybe it's the silver that is broken and not the capstone.

Queen is a Marlith, a demon, not a devil. You need cold iron.

edit: And I missed the one line that said you went into the shroud. Who/what were you hitting? the standard orthons/devils? Try tossing the weapon in the stone of change and see if that will fix it.

You weren't beating DR adamantine from the adamantine armor that one wears.

And if you got red out of a metaline geob... either you got one heck of a great bugged weapon OR that weapons is made of flametouched iron, in which case you have a great everything and then some beater for outsiders. (flametouched iron grants good alignment)

Good aligned can be caused by... I think the pali capstone, but Pure Good, Holy, and Flametouched iron for random weapon attributes.

are you sure you took the capstone enhancement, it's easy to forget to, especially if you frequently reset your enhancements
