please Get Some Hit Points And A Some Sort Of Proof Against Poison. Also Get Some Weapons That Break Dr So That You Dont Have To Be In There Longer Than Necessary.

Not shroud related but I was running amrath last night with a cleric who was casting cures on me that were landing for between 20-40 pure cure and I have 20% healing amp!

Sure, great for between fights but when I'm taking all the aggro and have 15 barbazu, orthons and trolls on me a cure critical might be appropriate at the very least.

I'm pretty certain he couldn't have had any sort of healing amp or empowering going on to hit me for that little. Plus he died about 20 times.

I didn't complain, he was a nice guy and I'd run with him again (since I'm too nice) but DAYUM.

Thanks the ddo gods a bard joined after the first quest and was a fantastic healer.

When I Shroud on my Flavored Soul, I beat on Harry just like all the other melee's. With quicken it is pretty easy to melee between heals. If I am staying alive, everyone "should" be staying alive.
But I do agree with the OP. Servant alone usually isn't enough to keep the party alive. If you are standing that close, may as well break out a club and beat on Harry.

This is my last post in this thread, it really says something when the vast majority of the people who have commented in this thread are taking offense to something. The original post was obviously about bad healers, and now every healer is in this thread defending their lousy healing tactics. It really just reinfornces my point that a vast majority of healers are complete garbage or easily offended moron healbots who don't know the full potential of the divine classes. The original post was mostly about the aura and poor healing of a certain group of healers who may or may not be reading this thread and suddenly it's about how lousy melees or how I don't know what I'm talking about or something else shortsighted or "uninformed" as one particular individual said. The point still stands, the aura is not a substatial form of healing nor is it a substitute for any heals you may or may not throw. If you take offense to this then stop sucking.

Sure, healing shroud is easy -- with a good group. I've solo-healed it many times, but always with a good group (by design). I know enough to say with confidence that being able to solo-heal shroud is extremely dependent on the group (assuming you're not chugging pots).

But get a group of toons who all believe that lacking DR breakers and losing 15/swing isn't a big deal, and suddenly it isn't so easy.

Of course there are bad healers. That's because there are bad players out there, but the cleric is 1/12 (or 2/12) of the party getting the blame 90% of the time. To borrow a smug phrase, here's a clue: I've healed shroud about 60+ times now. Sometimes I can solo-heal with ease, and I've had other times where after 4 rounds in part 4, Harry still isn't much below 50%, and it's clear that no one in the party knows what DR means. And in the meantime, lots of guys die, because they can't last in between heals. And we fail. Am I just sometimes a noob healer? I've solo-healed successfully, and failed as well, on the same toon, with the same gear. What's varying in this picture?
