I'm looking to dust off a defender build that I've had sitting around for a while. I built him back when Hound/VoD were the main endgame content and my guild needed a steady intimitank. Since then I've taken a couple of breaks and he's collected dust because he just wasn't a lot of fun to play.
I figured with the changes to THF feats, Dwarven Axe S&B, and Paladin Intimidate he's ripe to reincarnate. I'm hoping I can do a THF defender build that does enough DPS to be fun, but still be able to go into AC mode and be useful as a main tank.

I don't want to do a TR on him because I don't really have the time right now for that kind of investment. I'm leaning towards going full 20 Paladin, but I'm worried that he'll miss out on some feats that I'll want. Specifically I'll lose Dodge, Shield Mastery, and Improved Crit Slashing. The first two aren't very important and if I just go ahead and make Min2 greataxe then IC isn't necessary either.
I'm in a good position in that he has a good amount of gear that I won't need to grind out. I have one DT fullplate with Leviks and another with +3 Dodge. He has a Min2 Dwarven axe with +4 insight. I want to respec from TWF to THF so I'll make some DPS greensteel, but the Dwarven Axe will still be good for when AC matters and I pickup a shield. I'm thinking that I'll also want to make a Min2 item to consolidate the heavy fort and +5 protection into a single item. I don't really run much Epic content right now so don't want to really plan for any of that equipment at the moment.
Anyways, I'd appreciate any feedback from the Paladin guys that have some experience with THF or Defender builds. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I wasn't really worried about the order of feats too much because I'm planning it as an LR at this point.
