Default make players behave without banning, PLAT FINES!

I was thinking, two problems turbine has with DDO, how to deal with exploiters and how to sink money out of the economy so that it stays balanced.

    solution:

    FINE PLAYERS PLAT

but how would you fine a player for an infraction and make it fair? The worst offenders should have more money, and this would be more effective than bans.

USE PERCENTAGES ie. 50% of plat dumped for harrassment

    Why would this work?

    EXPLOITERS WANT MONEY!

How should I emphasize the awesomeness of this idea to my superiors?

I would be far more tempted to exploit if all I were going to lose is plat

No thank you - banning is worse and more befitting, assuming it's a warranted ban and not the product of some faulty and worthless auto-program that is.

if you were a repeat offender, I am sure you could still be banned.

plat is of little value in relation to the bound items. play is easy to earn in ddo. in my heyday, 1m plat a week isnt unheard of
If you want to know why...

I think that if the specific item they gained from the exploit should be changed for that person. Make the items they gained do the opposite of what they would normally do.

If they gained a tome, make it a permanent stat reduction instead of increase. If I loot a +4 CHA tome through an exploit, make it reduce CHA by +4 permanently. Eating another +4 tome won't bring those stats back up either.

If it is something like the Litanny, then when equipped, make it reduce stats and increase the spell point cost.

Eardweller, make it -2 to enchantment spells and the clickie reduce spell effectiveness by 100%. Also when the disease hits, have the SP taken away that you would have gained by eating one of the larva.

Basically, make any items gained through exploitation worthless and in some cases, stat reduction from a tome, very risky.

try emptying their entire inventory and equipment on all alts. lets see how they like that, just looks to me like a more appropiate punishment.

Permanently change their name to something like Skippy McCheaterPants and change the skin on their armor to something terribly ugly. And ground them. And no dinner.
