I wanted to post something a bit more helpful then my last post.

I got my first bit of equipment by creating a level four dwarf or WF fighter, battle cleric or Paladin (you seem to not mind the idea of spending cash so buying Vet status or races must not be out of the question).

I would just run Durks (for a muckbane to auction) and Irestone and a few other high plat/time quests. Vender. Send the cash and AHable or keeper items to my main. Delete. Rinse and repeat.

It was boring. Real boring. Very, very boring. But i got some stuff that was shiny and some cash to play with.

    Do something like that maybe.
BONGO FURY - Ghallanda - Thingfish - Wizard, Diuni - Ninja, Gheale - Angel, Dullknife - Tank, Noodlefish - Gimp, Jaquaby - Treacherous and other gimps.

Funny, I've seen people do it fairly often. When was the last time someone got banned for it?

When was the last time someone get arrested for making and selling, for example, illegal alcohol? I also see it quite often, but I dind't heard about anyone penalized for it.
My point is, that those rsponsible for bans got more important things to do, like tracking players who make more harm.

They should go the other way and let you buy turbine points with plat at some rediculous ratio.

    1 million plat = 1 turbine point

Some people would take them up on it, and that would take plat out of the economy nicely.

This is an interesting idea. However: from what I have heard, that would mean plat capped chars could buy 4 tp at a time. Not sure how many people would bother.

you can alreaddy sorta buy plat though, just find someone who is broke between paydays and farms alot of loot, pay pall
Suggesting people buy/sell plat through pay pall cash payments is a forum violation are you are telling them to do something that can get them banned from the game.

Selling plat for TP isn't necessary.

You don't need to purchase any weapons, gear or tomes. Consumables yes but you don't need to purchase any weapons or gear. Consumables are not terribly expensive and once you get into Gianthold, Sands, and Necro 4 you won't have to worry much about plat anyway because the vendor trash becomes much better.

Just farming taps for a Minos will net you some good loot. Just farming taps to sell on the AH will net you some decent plat.

Farm "Relic of a Sovereign Past" for ores. They will sell because plenty of people don't want run that quest.

Really, Tempest Spine is a good loot run. The vendor trash in there is decent enough and there are a lot of chests.

Just quest. You will get what you need. Not all will be the ideal but it will work. You may be a Kensii kopesh user but a battle axe still slashes. So does a longsword. You will still be getting the slashing bonuses to those weapons and Improved Crit will work for those weapons just like a Kopesh. They may not be ideal but the still function and get the job done. I've been there and done just that and all those slashing weapons will get the job done.

Even as a person with access to twink gear, I don't bother with items...unless it is really special stuff like Carnifex or Nicked items, all of it bound to account...that are less than lvl 10. All the Korthos stuff will get you there and I've heard Red Fens stuff is better.

You can also roll a haggle bard. They make a lot of money. Just don't gimp with Skill Focus Haggle or Negotiator(unless you take this for Virt) until you get all your haggle items because no one wants to rely on a character that is gimped.

Once you start rolling in the plat and see how easy it is to make it, you would kick yourself to spending real money for game money. You just can't be in the mind set that you need all this expensive gear because it just isn't necessary.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.
