    Default Please Add Equipment Loadouts

It would be cool if we could have equipment loadouts similar to weapon sets except something like in the two pics below (I know LOTRO uses that second set as a costume overlay but W/E...the pics are useful) so your main equipment loadout would be on Tab 1 (ie. Your Tanking Set) and Tab 2 would be your secondary (Ie. DPS or SOloing Set)

Note: I also think the cosmetic setup in LOTRO is cool too...but thats another thread

Also it could help with people who like to RP..they could have their In-dungeon set and their Walking around town set because it looks like normal clothing or something. I dunno :P

Ever since we were given all of the extra weapon slots, I thought it would be a good idea to have an option to make some of them item slots to let us swap. Maybe a UI option to convert 5 of the weapon slots to item slots.

    just my 2cp

I was thinking more along the lines of like how we have the two tabs now (The old inventory and the listed sortable inventory -see below-) we could just add a third tab with alternate sets with only the equip interface part (There's more than enough room for two side by side...they can even add in a cool border) and have a settable hotkey (or even better a clickie that can be put into your toolbars..make it an auto-granted feat for all like Heroic Durability) to switch between the two sets. Another thing this could help is reduce the amount of toolbars needed. I know on my wiz/rog I have my trapsmithing/umd equipment and my main equipment and this would negate the need to have all that sitting in my toolbars

Note: My Main is a wiz so I only have a few weapon sets but I bet toons that mainly use weapons use all there weapon set slots

Ditto for spell selection on Wizards and Clerics - it would be great to walk into a bar and select my CC spell set or my "kill everything in sight" spell set, etc.

Actually, for spells I'd rather be able to choose hotkeys for Spells that include MetaMagics more than loading them up in a bar.

Some spells I always want to use certain metamagics, but I don't want to use it with all of them. Toggling it on and off is a silly option.

"I'm an archmage who can cast basic or monumental magics on a whim (lvl 1 vs. lvl 9), but choosing whether I want them Extended takes total concentration for 6 seconds..."

Would love to be able to switch with one key like a macro.

On many of my characters I run with multiple gear options. My rogue has an "all out DPS" option, a "I'm gonna draw aggro so defenses and guards" option, a "umd boost" option and a "stealth / utility" option in addition to a "traps/doors" option. Things like "deathblock" move around to different slots and I get screwed up sometimes when I forget to move all 4 items over, etc. etc.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

This is an excellent idea. And should be fairly easy to implement considering it uses the same basic mechanics as switching weapon sets.

I also really like the idea of doing the same thing with spells.

LOTRO has an excellent system for this, where you can put any item (say a docent) you could equip into a 'wardrobe'. Then when you equip a second docent, you have the stats of the second docent and the look of the one in the wardrobe, so you can have, say, a Dragontouched outfit that looks like the Robe of Dissonance.

That would be awesome. Not a perfect system, but functional, and better than what we currently have (if you care what your character looks like at least a little bit :P)
What I have to wonder though... is if they can do that in LOTRO, and people have been asking for customizable appearances for a while, why do we still not have it here?

As far as I know it wouldn't just be a straight copy&paste (Note: I know very little about coding) I think they have different engines...both games feel different...different graphix, different combat, different class system etc. so maybe even something as simple as the "Warddrobe is difficult to transfer....but yeah instead of spending time developiong stupid cosmetic items...why dont they work on implementing it.

Note: The "Wardrobe only replaces the skin not stats so while I would definately /sign the idea it is a different beast than equipment loadouts.

Note2: I kinda of expected the costume overlay too be coming when they annouced a NEW UI was coming soon but sadly they did not.

Yeah it's one of the things in LOTRO I love so ideally having both a cosmetic tab (you know instead of the huge waste of TP that is cosmetic store items) and an alternate loadout tab would be epic
