if he didnt have the resists equipped, he certainly should have had some FR pots/clicky. especially for a TS raid, where FR is pretty much essential and anyone that has run it once is aware of this. although elemental resists arent really what i would have considered an 'essential' spell for an arcane and considering its not much SP to cast i would have thrown it to him, just for the sake of the group. even though he's still a bozo.
if an arcane ever asked for a blur or GH though, i would tell them to **** off. those are essential spells for arcanes. i dont even bother passing them out to arcane group members unless its in a raid before a shrine and im the one passing out the arcane buffs. bards are the only exception. ill throw them to bards just so they can use more of their SP for side healing and other party beneficial actions.
A note incase I missed it in my browsing of the last 5 pages... its usually best to designate 1 person to cast a specific buff so SP is not being wasted on overlapping buffs.
I dont assume every divine in my group/raid have full clericals on themselves unless they say so or I tell them to.

I always carry resists and believe they are too good not to have. But he was a party member you should have cast it on him. Different strokes for different folks as the psych boys say.

I guess the main thing that annoyed me is this guy was not helping buff the party at all. He pretty much only carried damage dealing spells, or used individual buffs. I am a firm believer of know you roll. This dude thought he was a ranger and not a caster (only doing damage from afar). I kinda put my foot down when it came out that he didn't carry any party buffs. No offense, but fully buffing 12 people for a raid as a lvl 12 wiz brings your sp to about 20%. I wanna kill stuff too. In my defense I'd already had a noob moment filled day with one dude not waiting for someone to rez him, but recalling then re-entering wiz-king on my first run on that toon (minus like 4k in penalties and lost bonuses). This was just the final straw.
That and the whole reason for this is that I am seeing a lot more casters out there that aren't helping the party out and carrying buffs. Even at end game I am hearing a lot of "I don't carry that buff". As an healer/arcane at end game, you pretty much funnel all your sp pots from other toons to your healers/arcanes because you end up using quite a few of them, especially to help recover when a raid goes bad. Not sure non-casters understand the expense of a healer/arcane at end game. If I ever manage to make an epic spell storing ring, that may change, but for right now, not so much. Having a fellow arcane pretty much foresake that whole duty and place it on the other caster in the group is just plain selfish. So, I responded in kind.
On the up side, the dude had some fellow guildies in the group with the ability to cast resist (Cleric and a paladin I think). I figured one of them would give it to him when I refused, but they would tell him he needed to keep the spell and a little good cop (the guildy) bad cop (me) would have occurred. The reality is that they all ran off without him too.
So, I sort of felt like this wasn't on me. I definitely wasn't the only one in the group that would have been able to buff him up, but I guess everyone pretty much took the same stance as I did, even his fellow guild mates. I think that's more telling than anything else.
This is a video game your not required to do anything. Also this is a pretty simple video game you dont need to min and max just so get to a treasure chest.
