Default how's this build gona do in epics ?

So I am hearing a lot about mass hold monster for epics. I reviewed the build I'm following and see it has no Focus for enchantment.

Are evasion wizards gimped in epics due to lack of feats? Should I trade the spell pen and greater spell pen for SF:Ench, GSF:Ench?

if you want to go in epics and mass hold everythng, id recommend archmage as a pose to pale master. You dont really need the necro focuses, and as far as ive experienced, spell penetration is only a problem against raid bosses. Perhaps switch out Greater Necro focus and Greater spell penetration.

What i've found works awesome for me in epics is going Evocation Archmage and buy one spell focus of Enchantment.

For this you have to get spell focus Evocation and Greater spell focus Evocation and Spell focus Enchantment. In the archmage PRe you can get up to Chain Missle as a spell like ability and you can buy secondary master Enchantment.

Doing it this way instead of full out enchantment your dc about 2 lower then a full enchantment build but the Magic missle and chain missles you get with evocation you can constantly nuke and if you spec a little force they hit hard.

At 20 with 40 int my Caster kicking usally a 38 to 40 dc on Mass Hold depending on if you have bard and what ship buffs i can get.

Well I am lvl 7 now. Is PM going to be much easier to lvl up with? It sounds like I can do some feat switching with fred later on to go full archmage as needed, right?

In the mean time, if I trade a spell pen on the way up for SF:ench (or maybe both of them?), i will only be 1-2 DC below a archmage ench right (since lich int will boost DC). And instead of spamming force do you think spamming the lich negative enrgy attacks does any dmg?

1 point below if you take both feats, unless you chug yugo pots in which case you will be equal, or one below if you only take 1 feat (however, you will be equal in every other school, except necromancy, where you will be better)

This is so true and what people dont realize. PM gives you an extra 2 int as well as allow for use of yugo pots and still keep 100% fortification. If you are a fleshie I would suggest PM for the self healing and higher HP total. If you've went WF for the self healing it's probably not best to do a PM but I have seen effective PM builds that are WF.

My current wiz build is a PM with both necro feats and one enchantment feat. My enchantment is 1 below az full specced archmage the rest of my schools are 2 dc higher except a possible secondary enchantment school which is equal and my necromancy DC's are much higher.

As far as spell pen it's probably the first thing to go when cutting feats or enhancments for me. Tr'ing really helps with this due to wizard past life bonus. When I have a particularly tough Spell resistance I use the epic staff of arcane power to get an extra 2 to my Spell Penetration.

I don't believe one is easier then the other, its just different play styles. My Wizard used to be a Palemaster but once you get past Vale of Twilight Wail and Finger become more situational. I chose Evocation and love it because The Magic missle and Chain missle combo can kill a group of mob almost as quick as wail and finger but it uses about 1/4 of the mana.

But again its all about Playstyle Pale Master or Archmage works good, but you deffently want some spell forcus enchantment in there.
