Default Nerf The Death Pact Spell (Clr/FvS)

Crazy i know asking for a spell in DDO to become weaker. In this case though I'm not actually asking for the spell to become weaker, just to have it do what it says it is suppose to do.

Death pact is a very powerful spell and logically it should have very powerful detriments associated with its use. Now the description of the spell states that each time you use it you incur a -2 penalty to your constitution until you rest at a shrine, but is that really what it does? When you die while under the effects of the death pact spell you are given a prompt to revive, and upon reviving you receive the same benefits that you would from reviving at a shrine. the problem with this of course is that those benefits INCLUDE BEING RID OF THE -2 PENALTY YOU INCURRED. the problem with this of course is that a player using the spell can simply revive and revive and revive again without building up any sort of penalty making them effectively immortal. according to the spells description you should receive that -2 penalty to constitution and HAVE IT STACK EACH TIME YOU DIE AND REVIVE WITH THE SPELL making you weaker each time you do. to me that seems like a very balanced and fair trade, however the spell is not functioning as it should.

    please fix this spell.

if there are other players who feel the same way i do then please consider this a petition and sign it.

while it's true the spell makes you effectively immortal to an extent, any SP loss you incur while alive remains. So it's basically the same as any level of cleric. As long as you can keep up the SP cost of healing yourself you can live, if you can't, you die.

After rezzing with deathpact, you retain a deathpact "curse" that prevents you from using the spell again until you rest. Thats why there are 3 icons when you cast the spell. One to show you can rez if you die, the second for a -2 con penalty until said death, and the third (that lasts through death) to prevent recasting it. I tried using it after a death recently, and though it took my spell points, I could no longer get the effects until I rested.

While it is true that the spell has been working properly more often since the last update, this is not always the case. i have often found that you can recast the spell even after you have revived. beyond any of this however is the fact that the -2 penalty to constitution disappears after you revive.
