Any of those still active and recruiting these days?
Any of those still active and recruiting these days?
don't know, wish they would
My Builds: Tempest Kensai of Zen
I wouldn't mind getting into a good RP guild as well... been gone from the game for a LONG time, but would love to get into it with people that aren't all about grinding every single quest...

Sounds like a guild of three right there![]()

Well, I've been gone from the game for so long now that I have regrown my noob hymen... I wouldn't know the first thing about how to start a guild.

Fellowship of the Golden Night is really active on Thelanis; certainly the most active RP guild that I have seen lately.
I was one of the original members of the Order of the Sword and Rose, which used to be a predominantly RP guild on Thelanis. Since coming back from a break from DDO, I have found the FotGN to be a new home. Great group of folks. Go check them out; I would be willing to promise that you will not be disappointed.
Commander Devoue ir'Argente- Matriarch of House Argente, Paladin of Boldrei, Commander and Historian of the
Order of the Sword and Rose
Thank you, I shall make a point to stop by and check this guild out.

The Night Blades Guild Hall on Thelanis is not neccessarily a role play guild, but we like to go slow and use our characters in the roles they have chosen, communicate and have a good time without all the hype and pressure to run to the next quest to get treasure and XP. Those are things that come with time. If interested look for Milika, Narlim or Molim on Thelanis. right now we are small and looking for lvl6 and under but will except most any like minded mature individual. Thanks, The Management.
I got a little tired of looking for a RP guild myself, so I made my own. Stormfist Company, and my toon on the game is Kuriane.
I AM ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so here is a list of well established Role-Playing Guilds on the server. These guilds are part of the "Role-Playing Alliance"
Fellowship of the Golden Night: Probably the stongest and most active Role-Playing guilds. Normally very easy to find, and most you find will be really friendly, and accomodating. You may be surprised to find out that many of their members are accomplished end game players.
Order of the Sword & Rose: They have a portion of their guild that role-plays. They are a healthy and well rounded guild aside from simply role-playing.
Dawnswords: Friendly, I do not know if they are recruiting at this time. Most of their membership has become sparse.
Crimson Nexus: Friendly, their membership is down to 1-3 humans playing characters. 1 of them is regular, and 2 of them have more characters in other guilds.
Umber Hulks: (My guild) Friendly, and rounded, we have players that do nothing but Role-Play, and we have players that could not care less about role-playing. We're casual. We have only about 9-11 active humans left. If we were able to recruit more people that were willing to put into helping the guild grow again, it would be very nice. Very hard to do. Love to have you. Hard to keep you once you're here.

There is also another guild that is not officially part of the ""alliance"" but has a really awesome product.
Open Palm Adventures: They are a role-playing questing guild. They are growing, and have big plans, it may be a great place to jump on. The guild has a lot of potential.
There are, and maybe other guilds that I have missed. I of course mean no slight.
Remember Always.. That on Thelanis.. we have a sticky thread for Thelanis Thursdays. Every Thursday night, the majority of the role-players representing their guilds show up in the Phoenix Tavern Generally 7pm EST-1amEST
I Am 19037, and that's what think.

I AM ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1GUILD LEADER OF THE UMBER HULKS
I know that's an older post, just wanted to say thanks for the list. I joined DDO in November and recently bought a VIP membership. I love to roleplay, but have mostly stuck with one particular friend when doing so; it's been hard to find interested folks who are on at the same time (I live in the Pacific time zone and game at night) and can type fast enough for meaningful RP to happen.
Having taken time to familiarize myself with lore relevant to the characters I play, I also tend to appreciate this characteristic in others. Despite the volumes and volumes of information available on D&D races, classes, and nations, this seems a bit rare.

Thank you for mentioning and (kind of ) suggesting Open Palm Adventures. We're a fairly 'new' guild ( Compared to the others ) and therefore we are not as well known. ( Aah, the logic. )
Our doors are open for new players/roleplayers.
Check out this URL : http://z7.invisionfree.com/Open_Palm...ex.php?act=idx and see if you can find the guild of any interested.
Again, thank you 19.

i got a fantastic roleplay guild, its for any lvls recomend for help that low lvls shud join too 1-20,my guild lvl is 15 i got 30k plat only 20k left then wait for lvl 20 then the airship will come, the roleplay of mine got job roles listed here;
Bodyguard - helps you for 5k plat per dungoen, a tanker required, e.g. a wiz hires a bodyguard for 5plat which is cheap for each dungoen, so its better than a hireling cas the tank is a player and actally do better than a hireling.
Co - Leader - takes over as boss while leader is off, any bad behavouir or doesnt like the guy that is co leader, then the co leader will put a report on the message of the day, (if you want to post a message you must ask permision off co leader or the orginal leader)
Trader, trades goods for members and puts goods in the deposit chest, must have permision for an item from a trader, otherwise u waste the goods,[required airship], so leave that for now.
if you do not wish to join then donate if u will we need 20k plat more for airship, DDO NAME : richiela
I've been RPing quite often now since my first post in this thread, and I'd like to share a couple of things I've learned that may be useful to a newcomer:
1. You don't have to join an RP guild. Good RPers will let you hang out with them regardless of your guild affiliation. That is, you can have a great time in an RP guild, but don't let it stop you from RPing if you're attached to your current guild.
2. Go to the back room of the Phoenix in the Marketplace and the Open Palm Inn in House Jorasco. Thursday nights are supposedly busiest, but that's not always the case; I'm in the Phoenix most nights now and I usually find someone to RP with. These two locations represent two fairly different styles, with the Phoenix usually being for chat-based roleplay and the OPI for RP questers. Most people prefer one or the other, but everyone should at least try both.
3. Use /emote sparingly. In RP this is the equivalent of shouting so that the whole room can hear you. It's best to do one /emote when you enter the venue, so that others know a new RPer has arrived, and then use /say after that. I made this mistake a lot early on.
4. Fill out your character bio and label it "RolePlayer" or "RP" right at the beginning. This lets you show others your writing skills and give hints as to what they can expect from your character. This is also where you can put more detailed physical description, when you want others to "see" something in your character that the toon can't show. Sometimes having a good bio will lead to spontaneous opportunities outside the regular venues, and those can be awesome.
5. Create a character others will want to talk to, not just one you want to be.
a. Don't godmode. That is, don't have a character bio wherein you indicate that the reader is afraid of or in awe of you, and don't emote to the whole bar that your character's aura of awesome magical mojo strikes fear into the hearts of all present. Guess what? In text RP all characters are equal, and in quest RP you can only play with those to whom you basically are literally equal as well. You are not more powerful than everyone else. Acting like you are or playing other people's characters' reactions for them will get you ignored, stat.
b. Don't roleplay a complete jerk. It doesn't matter how realistically you do so or how good your writing skills are, you will quickly find yourself very lonely. It's totally possible to RP someone difficult, irritable, or full-on evil without breaking this rule. You just have to be a little more subtle.
6. It's okay to have an unusual character, as long as you follow rule 5 above. That is, I RP with undeads, dragons, khalashtar, unusual elf races, and other lore-friendly characters who are not part of the main DDO setting. Have fun with it, whether you're playing an elf straight from Aerenal or a daelkyr half-blood with a shadow twin symbiont.
7. Ignore the griefers. Yes, at some point you will have some moron dancing on your table while you try to hold a serious conversation, especially at the Phoenix where the pvp pit is. Just pretend they aren't there, and eventually they will go away. Acknowledging them in RP just encourages them to keep harassing you.
These are all things I wish I had known immediately. Hopefully they'll be helpful to the person who is new to roleplaying in DDO.
