Pls explain thieves tools to a rogue noob

If i have a +3 disable device item equipped and i use a +5 thieves tools, do I get a +8 disable boost , or just a +2..
In other words, do the +3 disable device item and the +5 thieves tools stack??

Theives tools stack. and the Bunus is listed right int he Description. +3 Theives tools are actually +5 so +5 tools With +3 Item = +10 Bonus.

Of course yous till have to add Ranks in Skill, Int Mod and lots of other things to get your final modifier.

Thanks Much.... Was very doubtful that they stacked, as my previous toons seemed nothing stacked... armor bonus, strenght bonus, etc.... kinda amazing the tools do...

Stacking is one of the things that seems to trip people up the most.

General rule (there are exceptions) is that if the bonus has a keyword, like "enhancement" or "morale", it will not stack with other items that have that same keyword.

If the bonus is not specified (which I *think* is the case with thieves' tools - can't recall right now) then it will stack with anything, including another item with an un-typed bonus.
