New Hardware, Game won't load

I just updated my video and audio (soundblaster x-fi) cards. Now when I try and start DDO (and only DDO) the game never makes it to the loading screen.

I have tried the following (after updating all drivers):
Run all programs as admin
Run all programs in WinXP compatibility mode
Renamed User-prefs
Removed DDO/Reinstalled

I still cannot get anything but a blank screen after I select my server. Its normally black, ocassionaly it turns light gray and I get a windows message "program stopped responding"

No error messages, nothing. Driving me nuts.

Just to check, you did locate the most current drivers of the new hardware, right? Might as well check your other hardware, while you are at it.

Not saying you didnt, but it can often be an overlooked step, even by experts.

Summary:
Find application Host OpenAL (ADI)" and if it's listed uninstall it. Then open C:\Windows\System32 and look in that folder for "adi_oal.dll" and rename it to "adi_oal.dll.bak" and try relaunching DDO.

I had a sound blaster x-fi and apparently a daughter app likes to interfere with ddo. This did the trick for me.

Not how I wanted to spend the last 6 hours, but its solved.
