Right click on them or on their name in the party listing, and then click the cure spell that's in your shortcut bar.

If you don't have the spell in your shortcut bar; press C, click the spells tab, and drag it into your shortcut bar.

BTW, even though it says 'friends' on the descriptor of Cure Potions, they can only be used by you, you have to trade them to your friend if you want them to use them.

A good tip for any kind of spellcasting on others is to learn to use the function (F1 - F12) keys to target party members. The number associates to the order their names appear on the list on the left hand side of the screen. You will always be the F1 key, and the rest will follow from there (up to F6 for regular parties, or F12 for raids).

Though the way you want to set up your shortbut bars is, and should be, up to you, I would recommend having at least your highest level healing spell on your main bar. That way you could quickly press the appropriate function key, and then the appropriate number for the spell and voilĂ*, they're healed.

Too add to the other replies, if you're keyboard friendly, you can use the F-Keys as well. You would be F1, the second person in the list is F2, etc...

Firstly, hit 'G' to turn off the autotargetting 'feature'. It will cause your target to randomly change while you are casting.

Secondly, practice using the F1-F6 (also F7-F12) keys in raids to target the right party member. (If the person you want to heal isn't in party with you - say they fell off the Marketplace spire and are incapped, you'll need to target them with left or right clicks depending on your UI setup).

Thirdly, have the healing spell you want to use on one of your hotbars, and either click it (the slower way) or press the key or combination of keys you have assigned to that spell (the better way, but there's limits to how many spells you can setup like this, and you might choose to put other spells in these slots, especially on toons like Paladins and Rangers that get only really low level healing spells and get them at levels where they are barely useful)
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

    Default Tagging on OP's Query

Not to derail from the OP's question but...

Does the F keys work for hirelings or pets (e.g. Cleric summon)? In LOTR, pressing the F1 2x whether you're solo or in a group will select your pet (if you have one).

Is there target forwarding here? I.e. if I inadvertently cast a Heal spell while my target is a (non undead - I understand Heal spells would dmg undeads...) mob, would the Heal spell hit the mob's target or just not work?

nope, the hireling is in a party slot, you have to press the right F key to select them

and yes, if you select a kobold and press heal, you will get the spell not the kobold. the undead thing is good too, though it does leave you prone to making mistakes. many times i've healed a boss to death with lay on hands instead of saving my paladin. good thing those lay on hands hit hard
