Ok, so I'm working on my GS Min2 axe. I've completed the 2nd tier.

I have enough ingredients to make a 2nd GS item.

What should a WF barb look into? Belt, boots? I really need some advice.

and really the maul just needs to be tier 2 to get the most benifit out of it

Complete the third tier of your MinII Greataxe first. It's the best upgrade you can make yourself. Then I'd make a tier2 double positive maul. It's your undead beater, and you want the Raise Dead clicky before your step into epics. For your first accessory, I'd make a 45hp cloak. It's the least contested slot on a barb. Don't make a belt, as it interferes with Tower of Despair ring/belt sets you'll want. GS boots are bad, as you should be wearing Madstone Boots.

If this is his first GS item/weapon he may indeed have enough ingredients to make 3-4 tier2 items before he has enough larges to finish a minII. I agree that a pospos maul is a good way to go.

For your first accessory, I'd make a 45hp cloak. It's the least contested slot on a barb. Don't make a belt, as it interferes with Tower of Despair ring/belt sets you'll want.

Ditto on the cloak. What you make it into however is your choice, almost everything works good nowadays. An earthgrab item, a TTS guard item, a haste/kd proc/clicky.. all have their benefits.

GS boots are bad, as you should be wearing Madstone Boots.

And you have to swap those out in ToD so not really a great place for a GS item indeed.

why min2 first? why not a lit2 which does the job of a min2 on normal difficulty and better for trash on everything else... plus theres a ton of alternatives for min2 now (socketed epic Antique greataxe being one of them), also run of the mill +5 met/pure goods are also nice. There aren't many weapons that can deliever the same DPS as a lit2 ..unless we're talking eSoS.

Because you don't do everything on normal all the time.

I've had around 100 epic runs, give or take a few, with 0 crafted epic items. Given I wasn't really chasing anything in particular, it's still not a really great average. Suggesting an epic over a GS can be a tricky thing.

As soon as you start running VoD hard/elite, shrouds hard/elite, ToD hard/elite, and eDQ then your argument starts to lose it's weigth.

MinII first because the OP said he already had a tier2 MinII greataxe. We're working with what he has. A good socketed epic antique great axe is ok for a boss beater, and easy to obtain.

LitII is very limited once you do anything more difficult than normal. I hate tank elite ToD all the time with a MinII; my LitII collects dust.
