Maybe theres some leftovers still saying this from the dex based WoP ranger invasion back in the day. Those of us who understand that str isnt a dump stat just because the class enhances dex, also understand that rangers arent lacking power.

I would like to see something added to ranger 18 tempest. The only nerf I thought they needed was to switch the tempest 1 and 3 PRE around pre U5, so the 10% haste would get tacked on at level 18. Then it would have paid alot more to put more than 6 levels into ranger.

Wheres the middle of the road here?

Its all relative. If they made this (or something similar) available to ranger 18 or so, once per hour, I doubt that the game would become unbalanced. If they made it available to ranger 4 and above, and unlimited, yeah the game would be unbalanced as far as resource consumption is concerned.

Would make quests easier then they are now, and sure we moan we want a challenge but I havn't hurt word on how we moan about using to many resources to complete a quest, we only do that to complain about the pug grp not the quest.

So no I want a challenge again....back in my day the low lvls quests would kill ppl on normal.

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

    I love Rangers...

But honestly, they are a very powerful class with many abilities already. They need no help at all.

Betcha didn't know Clerics were a weaker class, either.

I'm actually on the boat that says the game should get harder, it seems gear is getting better (and at lower levels) while the actual content is getting easier, to a point where you have people one/two manning everything in this game on hard/elite/epic.

I just don't think ressource management is an optimal way of making things harder, it puts a disadvantage to those that have few ressources, while makes it very easy for others who have ressources. Especially since I occasionally play with players who rather just chuck major mnemonic pots while running than having to stop and shrine, simply because its faster.

Without any technical fanfare, I think it's a pretty cool idea.

This might be interesting, could charge a feat for it if one is really inclined to do something like this?

The return on dualboxing is already more than this would confer.

    Benefits
second hireling to run with your "main" w/o buying gold seal
.....cover any stat runes you don't have covered
.....fighting about as well as a pet, though has to be called through pathing barriers

    recovery from death
.....recover stones to shine or direct rezz at sufficient level/UMD=>avoiding reentry penalty

    more loot chances

longer duration buffs w/caster as 2nd; SP conservation if main is caster
    .....DV as mentioned, song access

piking of second account for almost 2x the xp and favor*
.....gaining opener on 2nd account for quests

    Costs
    turbine point expenses
    .....adventure pack access
    .....race/classes

    more time to complete/loot/travel
.....*so not quite 2x xp and favor, probably not less than 1.5x effective/quest

configuring computer to run both accounts
    .....one-time and negligible over time
.....multiple client management straining some systems

    increased difficulty from dungeon scaling
.....no difference on elite, by official statement

    avoiding grouping with other players
.....debatable if this is actually a cost, I suppose
.....net difficulty increase when compared to competent player

I think there's a clear net gain overall.
