    Exclamation Beware of Share !!

Over the last few months I have had multiple bad experiences with peeps joining my LFMs asking for a share. Today was no different.

First off, I am a simple dude. I am not an elitist powergamer or a jerk but every time I have allowed those folks who ask for shares to stay in my groups, I have regretted it.

They lose crates in Gwylands, wont go to the barriers with the shards in Stormcleave, cant find a way show up in the quest without dying. They are constantly DCing or ignoring direction.

If the first thing someone says when they join is that they are new to the quest or "what house?", I have no issue with that. It seems that those who are willing to admit their ignorance to something, are more likely to play hard and take direction.

Today I get a guy in group from a guild that has enjoyed a decent reputation as of late. The first thing he did was ask for a share.

I considered booting him but decided to let it go. He never stepped into the quest even after we were underway for 10+ (doing god knows what) so I decided that he wasnt set on contributing to the group and removed him.

After that he sent me mulitple tells calling me an A**hole, telling me he wasnt a noob and that he planned on /ignoring me. Then he apparently reported ME for harassment for telling him "eat me noob".

Maybe it was a bit childish for me to tell him that but I had to say something, he was ****ing me off....

Anyways, if you are a solid player but a bit on the lazy side, please refrain from asking for a share if you join one of my groups. And for the rest of you party leaders out there,...Beware of Share!!!!!!

"share pls" is one of the 10 not-so-secret warning signs you got a noob. I auto-boot for it for any quest that has the giver relatively near the entrance. But then again, I put BYOH/No Babysitting/etc in the LFM.

I won't usually kick anyone for not zoning in though, unless they start asking questions that indicate they clearly failed to read the lfm (what quest, what house, help me guys, blah). Come in or don't though...I don't care. I'm probably zerging alone anyway

ive had several people say share please and go on to be nice and productive.... i mean, they can run back to the giver to get the quest, or i can click 3 times and they get the quest... its hardly an auto-boot signal...

i think its more correlation than causation. If the npc is right in front of the quest entrance, then share please means they havent done it, if the npc isnt, let it slide...

Amen brother. "Shr pLz" is the first warning sign that the person who just hit your lfm did not take the time to actually read the LFM, cannot figure out how to get to the quest, does not communicate, and will most likely neg 10P you upon entering the quest and going through the areas that are mostly clear from your soloing it while the group filled. My favorite so far are the people that ask you to share the quest and also ask "what quest are you doing?" when it is clearly indicated in the user text panel of the LFM and the quest panel. Whether or not I proceed to autoboot them at that point usually depends on the mood I am in; if I am looking for some mischief I kick them and just wait for the incoming /tells that turn into the kinds of things that you just have to post in guild chat for others to enjoy.

I dont think Jesus would need you to share at all, he would have picked up the quest. I wonder what class he would play?

I agree more with this. Even I have forgotten to grab the quest in my hurry to get there so people aren't waiting for me. Of course I usually dont ask, 'share please' but instead say something like, 'I'm an idiot forgot to grab the quest, can someone share?'

But the real warning is, "What quest are we doing?" There is a much higher rate that these people will be a problem.

    Last night:
Doing Running with the Devils on normal, put in progress for healer. As soon as we step in I get a hit for cleric. He says he's gonna level and then be right there. He then proceeds to ask every aspect of his level. Including each and every spell. As we had by now made it to the optional chest i booted him.

    ARG!!

If your gonna pike it, at least do it IN the quest.

I roll 1d2 in these types of situations. share plz / what house / other ignorant, short blunt questions that indicate pugger has failed to read the LFM before hitting it will cause me to do so. 1 i auto-boot, 2 i give em one more shot. it's a more 'fun' way to deal with ignorant gamers

    Yep, I've started doing that.

Funniest is when you get a /tell saying something like 'hey, it's *******'s alt (someone you know), just said shr plz to mess with you'. Sometimes I forgive these people...

    18/2 Cleric/monk

18 cleric for the resurrection spells

2 monk because... Jesus saves... and takes no damage.

Had someone join an epic Chrono last night. First thing out of their mouth is "share". Gets ignored as we are, you know, in the middle of fighting epic mobs and getting fireballs shot at us by flying abishai. They ask for a share a second time, this time I say "we're kind of busy right now fighting epic mobs, do you think you could go get the quest?" (by now, enough time had passed where the person could have run to the questgiver and gotten the quest themselves) This person proceeded to ignore every single written and verbal instruction once they managed to get in the quest, and died somewhere over by the House J entrance while we were in STK.

Nice; did they also manage to red alert you while fighting the orthon?

I clipped the rest of your post at exactly the same point where you, or whoever the party leader was, should have clipped them.
