    Default Disruption wraps worth it?

Hey guys...I am a relative n00b so be gentle.

The question I have is this....

Are wraps of disruption for my 12th level monk worth it? I am considering them because I am dark path and the nerf of TOD has left me a bit soft against undead. I see that the will save is only a 14, how often should I expect to smoke undead with that low of a DC?

Right now I am using Holy Burst wraps which work great for anything skeletal, but suck against zombies.

My monk is lt specced. I have flaming burst/disruption and ghost touch/disruption wraps. They work well.

Disruptors work really well in the desert slayer area, and ghost touch of disruption work well in Necro 2/3/4 normal quests.

So, yeah a good set of disruptors are worth it for any monk.

If you're dex/wis they are probably more beneficial. I leveled mine easily w/o any disruptors at all; don't feel like they are required. Handy, sure ... required, no.

I *am* a Dex/Wis build monk. Does my Wis modifier effect the DC of the will save on the wraps or is that number stagnant? If it does then that will bring the DC up to 20 and that will make them a lot more deadly.

Eventually they will only work when the mob rolls a one, making them about the same as vorpals (i.e. one in 20 chance of going off)

think he just meant that dex/wis monks do less damage. DC remains 14.

Once you hit the Orchard of the Macabre in the Necropolis, disruption becomes much less useful - for anything below that (Necro1/2/3, Sands, Catacombs, etc.) they are pretty good. DC 14 is unfortunately not that hard for high level undead opponents.

Unfortunately the event just ended, but the next time the Mabar Festival is up you should spend a few hours and farm up the Lighty Disrupto-tron Wraps. The level 12 versions, for comparison to the randomly generated +2 disruption wraps you could otherwise get, are [+5, +3d6, +1d10 on crit] disruptors. Disruption is super-handy against melee undead around level 12, and the extra goodness makes short work of caster undead too.
