Default 3 feat choices if I GR

Ok, so I have an elf (for now). Until I TR him I am considering a GR, and I was thinking of trying to use the elf enhancements to break out of the khopesh without ruining dps (and make use of the stash of rapiers I have: paralyzing, banishing, etc).

I didn't know much about stats when I first rolled this guy so I read the guide during char creation that says Wis is important to rogues (... please remove that). 12 str, 17 dex (cuz elves are dexterereius i r in character), 10 con(im' sneekeh, i dont get hit), 14 int, 12 wis, 10 cha.

    So I'm going to re-roll with GR if I get the TP or a lucky chest drop to 16str, 16dex, 14con, 12int, 8wis, 10cha

option 1: I could take aerenar dmg II, and have +2 to longswords and rapiers, then instead of weapon finesse haev IC: slash to add to IC: pierce
-Use rapiers as primary and longswords for high-fort mobs that arent resistant to slash.. (heavy maces for skeles). (or drop ic:slash and drop my 1 fighter lvl for pure rogue so I can get capstone but thats a GR+1... since Im' using longswords for pure fort mobs anyway... opportunist doesnt justify ic:slash).

option 2: if that is just a terrible idea I could drop OTWF, keep IC pierce, and get khopesh+IC:slash and trade out weaps as needed

option 3: I could just be cookie cutter and change finesse for khopesh and trade IC pierce for IC:slash and drop aerenar altogether.

option x: dont GR... suck it up til I get 20 tokens then TR into a xploiter build

option z: take dwarven axe feat, ic slash and rock the dwarven axes as an elf... jk

I'd stick to rapiers. Not only because you already have some Rapiers, but because it is a good choice for Elvish Rogues. (Same would be true for Scimitars, btw.)

A non-human rogue is pretty tight on feats, as you have only have 7 feats in total. The following feats are considered to be mandatory to take on a TWF rogue: Toughness, TWF, ITWF, GTWF, Power Attack, IC: (your main weapon damage type).

This leaves only room for one feat. Either you take OTWF, which enhances your to-hit; or you take khopesh, which does better base damage than a Rapier. The main reason why non-khopesh racial weapons are not that bad, compared to khopeshes, is that the large part of a rogue's damage comes from sneak attack dice, which are independent of the crit range and multiplier of the weapon. For fighters and barbarians, this is a totally different story.

Additionally, a RadianceII rapier blinds on crit and ensures sneak attacks. A RadII khopesh does that too, but it doesn't simply crit as often as a rapier. And, as a nice bonus, dual rapiers have +4 to hit more than dual khopeshes via OTWF and the racial Enhancement.

Sweet, thanks for the explanations. I think option 1 with the GR+1 to go pure rogue makes the most sense, then. The one main advantage rapiers have over scimitars is vorpal is somewhat redundant for assassin III, while banishing is pretty dang useful for vale and vale quests (not sure about devils of shav xpac) - and rapiers are *the* best banishing weapon. I did some math and with aerenal + 2 dmg rapiers stay in the competition for dps with khopesh for a while (khopesh pass them up in base dmg at +19, but they don't go flying past too badly and the rapiers will actually do more dmg on 100% fort... longswords even more)

I had fun playing with some fighter stuff as I lvld (wearing full plate, using diff martial weaps), but I find I'm not actually using anything that requires fighter anymore except the extra feat for weapon finesse. Tihocan even switched the build I was following with 1 lvl of fighter in it to pure rogue (dirty trick)! http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...13&postcount=5

Oh, I didn't address the fighter question at all, sorry for that:
    1) Evasion only works in light armor, which includes the mithral versions of normally medium armor. So it is not a good idea to wear full plates.
    2) Splashing one level of fighter makes you lose the capstone, which is +4d6 of sneak attack dice at level 20. (This is the main reason why tihocan did switch the build.)

Rapier vs. Khopeshes: iirc Rapiers are 3-5% behind Khopeshes dps-wise on a drow/elf rogue.
