all right, so based on the vast and overwhelming amount of such freely-given and helpful responses I decided to uninstall the game and then re-install since that seemed my only option.
It didn't work so keep up the amazing and kind suggestions and together we can hash out this completely awful issue. Or I can just, like I've been doing since friday, not play this game anymore.

once again thanks for all of your helpful, timely responses and suggestions.

You might check post #4 in this thread, though I'm going to guess you've seen it.

You've reinstalled the game so that should rule out any corruption with the game files themselves.

Poking around a bit on Google keeps pointing to .Net 1.1 issues. If needed, you could try reinstalling that (detailed here; if you decide to pursue this route, please get the uninstaller as mentioned in the site given).

    Best of luck.

It occurs to me that the dice are being rolled by the same computer that's trying to kill me. It knows all the moves - it's just toying with me.

still didn't work but on the bright side I guess its only two more days till it's been a week since I could play the game...

thank you very much for trying to help. I honestly love the game but it seems like only you could even think of a suggestion and its not just me, I didnt even create this thread, I just had the same problem as the other guy.

I honestly hope someone at some point finds a way to fix this so I can play again... that would be great...

You might try checking out the log files to see if there's anything there. They're usually fairly obtuse but might show up something.

    c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\turbine\Dungeons and Dragons Online\Launcher

There's usually the last five attempts in there. You can check the latest ones by date / time stamp.

Worth a look if nothing else. Update 7 might help stuff as well.
