pretty cool everyone isnt going bat-**** crazy and is just calmly asking for an update and expressing concern in an adult manner.
I keep checking in case this isnt the internet

Its still down for me as an update - site maintenance, I am not going to risk trying until I get an official steer.

I made a character on the turbine site a while ago so I could pre-adjust and they are very good at caring and customer service so I am guessing they are all hands to pumps.

Ps if anyone wants someone to game with who has been on the P2P service for a bit and is used to the nu-ances shoot me a message on here.

Morning guys after a very interesting night that i was opening my eyes every 1 hour to check if the server was ok or still at maintenance and then back to sleep.i am up and this time stable

so we have any news from tolero or something this thing will take more hours?

I didn´t bother to try last night as I was expecting the site to be under permanent attack by the hardcore-gamers... Now it´s 10hrs after the announced beginning of the transfer tool being able to be used, I have still about an hour time left before I need to go to work - and the site is down for maintenence? MUAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh did anybody get an answer to this via FAQ or personal mail contact with customer support:

Q: I did have lots of characters on both servers and their number exceeds the number of slots available to me at the moment. Will I be able to sort or somehow prioritise the transfered characters or will they be lost in transfer due to some strange sorting criteria only the database god knows? In other words, will I be able to play my main Zzooper Trooper or will I have to farm the shroud with my lvl 1 bank characters A-man, B-man and C-man?

Yes, I am able to log each of the 28 chars (6 placeholders or so + real ones). I didn't buy any extra char slot (for now). The raids completions count is also present. The (invisible) rename token as well.

From what I hear, all the characters will be transferred - but only the number of slots you have will be visible (and no scrolling!). I don't know the criteria for which will be showing. Also, if you have, say, drow, but have not unlocked drow for that server, or not bought the drow option from store, then you will not be able to play that character until drow becomes unlocked.

Oh, and some people did have success in using the tool - even put up a screenshot as proof. They are presently the most hated people on the internet.

dont speak about the luckys!i deleted the char i create for chatting until my chars over europe arrive.and now as i cant get my chars and without a char to chat.
i have to use the forum

A few people have successfully transferred some or all of their toons ; probably not very many though.

I was the same as everyone else and really looking forward to getting my characters back, saddly now the excitement has gone and I just feel let down :-(

Seriously the assault was to be expected, we have waited several month... if the tool had been brought online on the 21 of August, the assault would probably have been less massive. As well if they had brought it online at 4 or 5 AM ( for us ) it also would have also been better as the load would have been more spread ( when we woke up or came at work ).
That's things people in Telco like me think of ( because we can't do risky operations at peak hour... it costs too much to the operator ), but it's not something that computer companies are used of.

It's answered in the FAQ, your characters are not lost, first you'll be able to select which ones go in which slots,
then every time a slot is made available you'll be asked if you want one of the characters over the limit to go into the slot or if you want to keep the slot to create a new character.

Yes, some managed to sneak under the soap and got their transfer. It seems so far that what they are missing is the rename token on the characters that needs to be renamed. ( I haven't checked in game this morning though, but those that managed to get the tranfer in the first few minutes had their characters the points but were missing the rename tokens )
