Default "Holding Room" for Mabar Dragon quest

Ok, so it's really hard to split instances into 16-24 guys when you have no idea how many people are arriving and how long before they turn up. So, rather than put 10 people in an instance and make them fail from lack of players, you cram 30 people into an instance and make them lag-fail. Not cool.

What if, for the first 3 minutes of the quest, you get zoned into a waiting room with say 4-6 other players of your level. You wait for the other players to arrive, then after 3 minutes you all get allocated into the relevant quest instance with a perfect distribution of players. Leave the gates open for another 2 minutes for late-comers to be evenly distributed among the instances.

To entertain those with short attention spans, you can spawn some mobs for them to whack in the waiting room so they can keep getting collectables. Because everyone needs more collectables than scales.

Who cares? They've mentioned that other things will be fixed "for future events", implying that it will be held again.

I had the same idea last night- I'd +1, but I've given too much out to FlyingTurtle.

can't say i've ever failed because of lag. in fact, with 30+ people in the raid, i've never failed. this is possibly related to the fact that it's hard to fail when there are so many firewalls, dancing spheres, cloudkills, etc on the ground. oh, sure, dpsing the dragon might be a bit tricky, but the dragon is conveniently quite large and takes damage from mulitple instances of those nice damaging spells so long as they are not attached.

in fact, the smoothest runs i've ever been were so laggy that all i had to do was sit there and pike.

personally, i'd rather see it fill the first instance to about 24 people minimum, and until at least that many people are there, don't worry about starting the next instance at all. if after the 10 minute time period, one instance has less than 16, kick them all to random other instances (or at least give them the option to go to a random instance with more than 16).
