    Default Graphics bug

Randomly, when I zone into an area, the textures are a lot more brown than they should be. I can't figure out how to reliably get this to happen, it happens sporadically and it sometimes fixes itself if I leave the zone and come back. Anyone know what's causing it?

Here's what the textures are supposed to look like, compared to a screenshot of the problematic textures:

I'm running Vista 32 bit with a GeForce 8400M GS graphics card.

Bumping because I got a new computer (yay!) and I still have this problem. Now using Windows 7 64-bit with an AMD HD 6520G.

I don't know much about textures, but I'm just curious...

You changed computers, changed operating systems, and thereby are using a completely new (and different) graphics card, yes?

Are you using the same monitor from the old machine?

No, both of my systems are laptops with a built in monitor.

It doesn't happen that often so it's not that bothersome, but I wouldn't mind fixing it.

That almost looks like a gamma correction isn't kicking in.

I concur with this observation, it looks like ambient lighting overlays are not getting applied right away so you end up with a darker render than expected until those get applied to the scene.

I'd look into the graphics driver config (Nvidia Control Panel, or ATI Catalyst Control Center) to make sure that gamma and related brightness options are not set overly low there or to 'force' apps to use theirs and see also what you have set in the game options > graphics section as well.

This doesn't preclude it being related to how the games rendering engine applies these brightness features so you can certainly report it as a bug but to be honest I think we'd be seeing alot more reports of exactly this behavior if it was the underlying game code or settings.
