I'm working up a build that will be 15 paladin/3 monk/2 rogue intimitank leaning on healing amp for survivability / dps character. I don't take my first monk level until 11, plan on THF or sword and board w/o the feats until I hit 12, and plan to have a workable ac until GH.
As part of the build I need to have Weapon Focus: Slashing at level 12 to take Whirling Steel Strike. Before that point though the +1 to hit on a THF character isn't worth the feat. Given that fact I'm trying to decide on a good choice for that level 3 feat to hold on to through level 12. Here's my ideas so far:
- Dodge. It's 1 ac and I'll have a useable ac from level 1-11
- Least Dragonmark of Finding just to try it out.
- Least Dragonmark of Sentinel. Don't need pots for the AC anymore, scales w/ character level, and a +2 to intim to boot.
- Least Dragonmark of Passage. 3 uses of Expeditious Retreat a day? That would really reduce the need to use haste pots on the easier quests and mobility = faster leveling!
- Past Life: Favored Soul. 10 times per day 1d8+1d8/3 levels damage...it's something I guess.
- Stunning Blow: It might work for a stun every now and then at the low DC's of enemies at that point.
- Skill Focus: Intimidate. Not worth it when compared to Sentinel for just a +1 to intim or 1 saved AP.
- Skill Focus: UMD. This is really the other stand-out to me. I'm going to have full UMD ranks, a decent charisma...getting the Skill Focus could really bridge the gap to level 11 when the +5 UMD greensteel item gets opened up.
Whichever of these I choose gets dumped right before I take my 12th level. So which of these gives me the most bang for my buck in getting from 3-11?
