Your gonna want a GS Greatsword for other raids before you can get the eSOS. The eSOS is awesome though, so your going to want that asap.

    Both.

You won't get to use the ESoS until you cap. GS can be used as early as level 12 (if your a TR). You'll use GS fromthe time you can make it all the way up to 20.

GS -> You gona take rather Falhon than Greatsword. You can consider taking Greatsword if you are WF (still many would choose Falhons over greatswords), but for other purposes Falhon is far superior.
Onlt noticable great sword in game is eSoS.

Just curious why Falchion is that much superior.

crit range 15% base against 10% greatsword

with improved crit difference is 10% more crits for the falchion. base dmg doesnt matter since almost evrything comes from other modifiers then the base damage of a weapon as soon as u leave korthos.

Better critical range than greatsword -> that mean 10% more critical hits.
That nullifies 3,5 damage diffrence betwen GS Falhon, and GS Greatsword and even add few more dmg.

SoS is better because it has increased critical range (this same as base Falihon) AND increased critical multiplayer. And it is only greatsword (and two hander) with that type of critical bonusses.

Kind of an odd question, OP. What exactly are you looking to have answered here?

If your question is, "You have a GS greatsword and an eSoS laying on a table in front of you", then I'll take the eSoS.

That's never going to happen though. I would get your GS weapon first, and then use it to help you through the epic quests necessary to acquire the ingredients for eSoS.

Furthermore, since we're talking about Epic questing, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the GS greatsword either- I'd go for the greataxe for the higher crit multiplier. Most Epic groups I've been in throw mass hold like there's no tomorrow, so there's really not many mobs that aren't being constantly hit for critical damage.
    Have a nice day!

assuming OP is a wf fvs? otherwise this question isnt even an issue. if a wf fvs and you ant to minimize your weapons then go eSoS, i wouldnt even bother making a GS at all if i have access to this weapon cause once you get eSoS (and assuming you never TR) you will never take it off under any circumstance. throw on 50 adamantite rituals and even those rust monsters wont bother you

now if you are a dps class and you perfer greatsword over the higher dps variants (falchion/greataxe) then you def wanna make a few greensteel for diff situations, namely the lightning 2 because not much beats it period. of course dps calculators cannot do justice to the lit 2 due to the randomness of the procs, since most fights only last 3 minutes you cannot even guess how many times lit 2 will proc as the sample size is way too small, thus lit 2 can go from destroying an eSoS/min2 on a fight to only just barely keeping up depending on your luck... however, the potential for mass destruction is ONLY with the lit 2, the other weapons always give a consistent number
