Alright, it's gonna happen someday, bards will eventually have the third tier of Spellsinger, along with virtuoso and warchanter. In response to the inevitable, I've decided to propose my list of suggestions for what could appear for Spellsinger, since its my favorite PrE for bards. One thing I think all of us can agree upon is that Spellsinger III will obviously provide the bonuses and spell points that other Spellsinger tiers will grants. But the abilities it gives is a rather mixed opinion for many. Here are some of the abilities I propose for Spellsinger III(Mind you, not all of these abilities will be inplemented, this is just to give people a choice of what they would like to see in Spellsinger III):
Abilities
Bard Spellsinger: Metamagics
Cost: 1 AP
Description: Your studies and dedication to the spellsinger have rewarded you greatly. This ability will grant you the use of (Insert metamagic Name Here). (Insert metamagic Description Here) You may only purchase one metamagic feat through enhancements as a spellsinger bard.
Bard Spellsinger: (Short name for these enhancements: Past Life Remembrance)
Cost: Included with spellsinger III
Requirements(In addition to Spellsinger III requirement): Past Life: Wizard, or past Past Life: Sorcerer, or Past Life: Paladin, or Past Life: Ranger, or Past Life: Cleric, or Past Life: Favored Soul.
Description: As you use your bardic spells more often, you recall more and more about your previous life as a (Insert Class Name Here).
For sorcerer: You treat items that give spellpoints as if you were a sorcerer, and can use your enhancement points to purchase one level 7 sorcerer spell.
For wizard: You gain a +1 stacking bonus to your enchantment spells and can use your enhancement points to purchase one level 7 wizard spell.
For cleric: Your healing spells have a 10% stacking bonus to healing and can use your enhancement points to purchase one level 7 cleric spell.
For favored soul: Your gain a +1 stacking bonus to your evocation spells and can use your enhancement points to purchase one level 7 favored soul spell.
For ranger: Your transmutation spells have a 10% increase in damage and duration, and you can use your enhancement points to purchase any two level 4 ranger spells.
For paladin: All of your spells gain a +1 DC bonus against evil enemies and can use your enhancement points to purchase any two level 4 paladin spells.
You may only have one past life remembrance PrE at a time.
Special notes: This is a weird bonus for Spellsinger, its basically an optional perk that enables you to gain a additional perk and a level 7 spell of one past life you have had as a spellcaster. This is just a bonus for Spellsinger III and you are not required to have TR'ed in order to take Spellsinger III. Any spell you purchase costs 1 AP, with the exception of the paladin and ranger spells, which costs .5 AP per spell.
Bard Spellsinger: Aura of Magic
Cost: Included with Spellsinger III
Description: Your studies into songs and magic have mixed together well to grant you and your allies unique magic power. All of your spells gain +1 DC, your Spellsong Vigor spell now affects multiple targets and you may exude a aura of music around your allies for 30 SP. This aura will grant your allies a +2 circumstance bonus to attack rolls, saves, skill checks and a +1 DC to spells(Does not stack with bard's passive +1 DC), while giving enemies -2 circumstance bonuses to attack rolls, saves, skill checks and spell DC's. In addition, your bard songs may regenerate if your aura lasts long enough.
Special notes: The aura lasts around the same duration that heighten song and spellsinger trance lasts, and like the Elyd Edge, one song can regenerate every 5 minutes while in this aura.
Bard Spellsinger: Mystic Lore
Cost: Included with spellsinger III
Description: Your studies into the spellsinger have revealed even more secrets to you. You may now apply your CHA mod to weapon damage if it is higher than your STR mod, you gain +1 to your caster level for the purposes of spell duration and penetration, and any spell you cast has a chance of enveloping you and nearby allies into a mystic rage, granting a 20% stacking bonus to spell bonus for a short time.
Special notes: The mystic rage lasts 1 hour and 30 seconds, much like a rage spell at caster level 5.
Songs
Bard Spellsinger: Mystic Might
Cost: Included with Spellsinger III
Description: Your studies and dedication to the spellsinger have rewarded you greatly. Activate this ability to expand a use of your bardic songs in order to grant you and your allies a stackable 25% increase in spell damage and duration for a short time.
Notes: This applies to all spells, regardless if they heal or do damage. The duration, along with any other suggested Spellsinger song, is the same as using songs such as Spellsinger Trance and Heighten Song.
Bard Spellsinger: Efficient Spell
Cost: Included with Spellsinger III
Description: Your studies and dedication to the spellsinger have rewarded you greatly. Activate this ability to expand a use of your bardic songs in order to grant you and your allies a 20% bonus to casting speed for a short time, as well as a 20% chance that they will automatically succeed on a concentration check if one must be made.
Bard Spellsinger: Spell Deflection
Cost: Included with Spellsinger III
Description: Your studies and dedication to the spellsinger have rewarded you greatly. Activate this ability to expand a use of your bardic songs in order to grant you and your allies a 50% chance to reflect 20% of any spell damage they suffer back to the opponent that casted the spell. Some spells may behave differently on the opponent depending on what was cast.
Special Notes: This spell works a bit wierd: Damage-Duration spells, such as Melfs, will reflect back onto the caster for 20% damage at 20% the duration. Compulsion spells, instant-death spells, dispel spells and similar effect spells will use the DC of the enemy caster in order to determine the save DC for that reflected spell. Any non-instantaneous duration it has will be 20% of what was cast on the player. If the enemy has SR, the enemy's SR caster level will be used in order to determine if it breaks their SR.
Bard Spellsinger: Spell Sap
Cost: Included with SpellSinger III
Description: Your studies and dedication to the spellsinger have rewarded you greatly. Activate this ability to expand a use of your bardic songs in order to grant you and your allies +1 SP per every successful hit on an enemy. If the enemy is a spellcaster, they will also lose 1 SP per hit. In addition, whenever an enemy is hit by an ally with Spell Sap, they have a chance to be bestowed by a feeblemind spell, which prevents spellcasting for 10 seconds.
Special Notes: The chance for the feeblemind spell to activate is fairly small for some obvious reasons, probably about the same as maybe deception weapons.
Well, what do you think? There are many more suggestions that many others could put for spellsinger III abilities, let alone other bard PrE's, but I wanted to list a few abilities in order to give people the choice to chose 2 songs and 1-2 abilities for Spellsinger III. Some of them are wierd, and some of them are not as useful compared to others, but they all have their use.
