The fault for what you experienced lies with the leader of the PUG. He did not communicate with his members, and did not follow the rules he himself set down. He was the one who wasted your time, not the game developers.

I'd much rather you simply inform leaderboy that his choices were incompatible with your expectations and goals, then drop the group. Adding a bunch of mindless spam and unnecessary client overhead is a poor use of developer time trying to "fix" something that isn't a programming problem.

Believe me, if it were legal to shoot people for being "too stupid to use my software" then computer programming would be a far more popular career choice.
I can understand your point of view. I am a software developer myself, and things like this for the "ease" user experience are a high priority in all software. Why make things difficult for users.

Sure I can use the who panel etc, but the info is available at the time they join, its a small change to the text given to the other party members which will make things much easier and simpler for them.

As for the follow on warnings about xp loss, I included that as an additional feature request beyond the basic one as it would help inform new players about game mechanics they may not be aware of.

I think, also, that in this day and age of weird multiclass builds, the "Dominant Class" icon by their name is potentially misleading. You have a point there. But just seeing the class levels of your build isn't going to necessarily tell you what to expect either.

There are several 12 Wiz / 6 Ftr / 2 Rog Pale Master builds being discussed lately, and they're going to play quite differently from each other. And don't get me started on the whole "do you use a bow, or are you actually useful?" thing with rangers.

I actually got yelled at by some nitwit about how I was incompetent because my character had Bastard Swords equipped...except that they weren't Bastard Swords, they were Holy Burst Scimitars, and the twit needed new eyeglasses. After I linked them in group, he KEPT YELLING AT ME.

No amount of informative spam, no amount of dedicated screen real-estate, is going to be enough to make every idiot out there into an effective PUG contributor. The best solution, as always, is to watch your own back.

    Default LFM and Party

I believe the basic problem is that the LFM had a 4 lvl range example: 9-12 then the last spot is taken by a lvl 13. I agree that the party leader should have asked before taking or at least tell the party that way any lvl 9 that wanted to leave could. They should not have to check to see if they are getting hit with an xp penalty since the LFM was clearly stated when they joined. It is even more irratating when it is 2+ lvls above lfm.
