Angry Dwarf 18 Pal / 2 Rog splash question...

Well I finally took the leap and used my lesser heart wood +3 that had been burning a whole in my inventory for nearly 2 months.

    Originally I was a 20 Pal 32 pt build, THF, KotC 3 w/ divine might 4, min 2 Falchion.

After playing around with end game raids and gear frinds, I decided to change.

First I wanted to to the the twf 18 pal / 2 fig that Juntz has in his advanced build links (great resource btw Juntz. keep up the great work). My reason was to be able to still dps, but have the opportunity to tank when required. but I found the gear grind extremly much more work than I have time for.

So I redirected my thoughts towards a 18 pal / 2 rog so that I could dps with the best of them, get evasion, and get no fail heal scrolls.

One big problem I did not see coming - somehow I missed the Evasion only works in light or no armor.

Another few issues - with the stat requirements, I only get to DM2 w/ a +3 CHA tome (UGH). Not only did I lose my captsone dps, but with Update 7 I lost the undead dps from KotC (which was expected sometime). They also sometime snuck in the change to holysword sell so they are now only Cold Iron for DR purposes.

So I am completely confused as to what to do.

I look forward to any thoughts folks may have on what to do.

I am really not looking forward to TR'ing but I very well may have to.

    Thanks.

Did u already burn the +3 heart of wood?

My Pally 18/2 monk have this, and probably you could have too:

    TWF
    ITWF
    GTWF
    Extend Spell
    Power Attack
    Toughness
    Improved Critical

The 2 feats from monk I took Dodge and Combat Expertise, but those were only because she can also tank, so I don't recommend you to do that.

As for the AP costs, yeah, that sucks, u'll have to wait for DM3. But with 2wf your damage should still do good anyway.

    Default Sure did...

Yep. finally burned the +3 heartwood.

    Our feats are similar.

Except currently I have EWP Khopesh over Power attack.

    Already debating that choice....

Ah, yes, I forgot I'm human and that I took EWP: Khopesh

I think that Dwarven axes + Dwarf racial enhancements + Power Attack >>> Khopesh without Power Attack.

Imo, feat-starved dwarf builds should stick with axes, since the DPS loss is often negligible.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

Default Will have to look at enhancements...

Interesting thought about the dwarven axe damage enhancements.

Gonna be ruff though with Exhaulted Smite 4, KotC 3 and such.

But hey. with my umd what it is, around 36 currently, I would take full advantage of my +4 & +5 vorpal d. waraxes.

Silly developers. how come good weapons like that always have to be WF or hafling. hehe

Whew. You had me worried there. I actually logged in and cast holy sword to check. It still lists Silver DR bypass.
Nothing seems changed in the spell. It says it bypasses DR for Magic, Silver, Good, Slash, Cold Iron, and Byesck (is that a metal- I forget- think it bypasses mindflayers DR).

Sorry about that scare ie - holysword.

But ever since my LR, I would say about 80% of the evil outsiders I have fought {vale, battlefield} have all had weapon damage reduced when using a holysword khopesh'. And me originally not being able to locate the weapon descriptions. I was just figuring things were change unannounced yet again.

But I am very grateful to be wrong on that count.

Generally it's not a good idea getting past Exalted Smite II, because the cost is way over the benefits. Better to put those points into the DA enhancements as it was suggested.

I have to agree. The points you start sinking into Extra Smite and Exhaulted smite really start to eat up your AP points. On my main, he is currently at level 2 and with a khopesh with power attack, his crits are just as strong as my thf with E.S. maxed with a greatsword.
