the new classic duo for most dungeons will be 1 wizzy or sorc and a 1 bard. Glad I have a bard :P

bard "just keep me alive and I will keep you supplied."

    Sorc "no problem!"

LOL. I love my bard because I always feel like I can just pretty much sing and pike and everyone wants to keep you alive :P

The big benefit i see is from the 10% SP reduction in casting costs for all players....if the SP regen was 1) more sp per second and 2) an Area Effect spell, then it would seem useful for that. As is...you can get one SP potion that restores that many SP and do it in a few seconds...I mean you are talking about 10% to 20% of a caster's SP regenning over 5 minutes....5 minutes is a HUGE amount of time.

If you couldn't get SP potions in the store so cheaply then I agree it would be very sought after.

Because we don't need to use TP for them and the resource is much more renewable by simply resting?

The SP reduction works out to less SP for 1 song normally unless it hits enough casters who plan on using enough SP in that span of time. If I dump 1500 SP during that song I've saved 150 SP instead of gained 288 back. I can dump 1500. I can't dump 2900. I shouldn't burn through 1500 in 4 odd minutes either. So, roughly, 3 casters going thru 1000 SP in 4 minutes and I'm getting more SP return for the party than 1 song of vigor.

That's circumstantially better. It is more of an immediate benefit tho.

If I have the songs to spare I can use 3 songs, 1 on each caster, and get 864 SP back to the party in the same amount of time. So depending on whether I'm managing my SP/time or my songs/shrine might affect my decision, but in most circumstances if SP is what I want to manage I'm better off with vigor.

It also falls under the same argument you just gave: if you don't need the SP then a 10% reduction in SP cost is meaningless.

I'm usually better of playing spellsong trance for the DC bonus to spells plus 10% reduction AND using spellsong vigor to stretch out SP.

If you are watching your SP bar and managing your SP then the SP regen is handy and can coincide with the 10% reduction. You can stretch out your SP bar a lot with a spellsinger and that is the best advantage to playing one.

Does that help you understand my point of view on the idea? We can stretch out SP with time limiting the actual amount but it does add up to a lot of SP over that period of time.
