The special effects look cool and I'm 99% likely going to watch it no matter what but... I have this feeling that I'm going to go 'meh'. Modern special effects productions are mostly boring to me if that's all they focus on.
It depends on how much of the Tron storyline they stick with or say 'eff it' an go for an action/special effects production designed to draw in on the franchise.
The music Daft Punk put into this movie is what Italio Disco would sound like if it came out this century, heh. -Still like the earlier stuff I can bang my head to better... Who unplugged the TR-909?
As for the movie, I hope its modern and not all focused on how cool Tron was back in the day, and relying completely on its cult status to leverage the film. Sequels that get put out long after the original tend to fall into this category, which I hope is not the case here.
Daft Punk is perfect for making music to Tron by. I'm hoping the movie at least isn't embarrassingly bad in the plot and dialogue department, if they at least hit decent the movie will pretty much rock.
I often hate when they take a classic an remake it...
but...omg...omg...omg...I can't wait!!!
When the movie & game first came out I remember grinning at TRON. I'd issued that command many times myself in debugging code (for those who don't know...it was short for TRacer ON)

Oh, oh, oh, wonder if they'll make an arcade game to sit outside the theater! I was the boss-master of the original... Naw, they'll just create one on Wii or PS3. Besides, i'm outta quarters.
