    Default Prestige Symbols

shouldn't party leaders and party members be able to tell, to a general amount, how a member is built? simply add Prestige information to the party request. and make an option where the character (meaning this is optional) can change his symbol to that of any Prestige class he has the enhancement for. so if there is a character with multiple, they simply choose the one they thinks captures them best (or looks the coolest). also a split symbol came to mind (like the left half is first symbol (lets say...Mechanic, a Wrench or something) and the right half (perhaps...Arcane Archer (maybe a Tome in from of the normal Ranger bow) is the other one they have) but this is further in and i would much rather see the core idea first instead. this would help to know who to crowd around when you need protection, or heals, or when WF can ask for Mechanic repairs.

From a role playing perspective, this is a bad idea. Part of PnP D&D is that your character doesn't know the people they are in a party with, if they just met them. So outright knowing someone's skills the first second that they join a party, would be the opposite of that. Regardless of all the changes from PnP versions, and that this is a video game, it's still D&D.

From a game point of view, people can just as easily edit their Bio's for their characters, to include that info.

A bad AA is a soulstone. Good AA players are a boon to the party.
AA isnt that bad a PrE. Run more eDQ and you'll appreciate the good
AA players such as boomstick on khyber
If you want to know why...

I run edq all the time, and I've never wished my party had an AA in it.

The game doesn't break down on functional capabilities there either for the roles in question.

    I can do locks.
    I can do traps.
    I can heal.
    I am melee DPS.
    I can hate tank.
    I can intimidate-tank.
    I am ranged DPS.
yada yada yada yada yada yada yada

The complexities there aren't easy to bucket-ize. Get to ToD and someone might want a light monk ... ok. How about Sleeping Dust ... there's an OR-condition there. What if you want a WIS 6 person for the Cruicible?

I think it is likely too complex to really address. I'd almost rather get rid of the class icons anyway and just go textual-only.

Yes, I would approve of this modification. Using the same tie-breaking mechs that are in place to determine multi-classes/PrE-ed character's icons.

I would, though, suggest it be a toggle-able option. As it is now there aren't so many icons that it is hard to keep track. If you were to do different icon's for each PrE, it might get a little overwhelming for the neophytes.

It certainly isn't critical, or even important, but I think it'd be nice.

Aye, but if they were worried about the RP perspective, we wouldn't have class symbols at all.

To the OP, I think it would be a bit too complicated to implement this...there are just too many variables, especially when you get down to different styles of play within the PrEs themselves.

Oh, and I, for one, will always welcome a good AA into an eDQ...manyshot+slayer arrows+evasion means quick and easy run.
