    Default Sorc using DoD?

Quick question to those in "the know":

Is it worth it to have a DoD handy for a WF Sorc?

I have a toon I am in the process of deleting as he is fairly gimp now and I could use the extra slot. I have sent a bunch of gear from him to my capped WF FB when I came across his DoD.

Since my WF FB already has one, would it make sense to keep this "spare" for my TR WF Sorc when she hits the right lvl?

I can see the benefit of the DoD proc while shieldblocking in a FW as mobs try to piledrive me, but I'm not 100% sure how often it will be used otherwise.

Any suggestions or helpful hints will be greatly apreciated.

Only if you have a few points in tumble. It often procs at inopportune times, like when you are trying to hop back and forth in a CC area.

Go with the scourge choker instead.

You're going to have stoneskin and resist energy anyway, right?

I'd keep it, but not likely use it on a caster - though I can see it handy in the level range it is first available if you haven't filled out your spell slots sufficiently yet. By the time you hit 16 or 18 you're staring at DT and the Quorforged Docent, right?

In theory, yes. I'm going to have to go all through the grind in the Reaver's Refuge all over again. I had my Robe for my Drow Sorc exactly where I wanted it....now it will be rinse and repeat for my WF.

Such is life in DDO I guess.

Thanks for the input all, I think I'll keep it for a bit to use when its first available.

I'm trying to get my hands on one for my WF Wiz to swap in if I need to shield-block in a crowd of mobs for sp-renewal via torc/conc opp.

Of course, I don't have one yet, so I can't tell you how well that goes.

A LOT easier to make DTs now. All the runes are identified.

DoD will not benefit you as much as a DT or QF docent will. With displace and stoneskin and resists, I think there are much better choices to use.

for a standard caster I would not suggest its use as it severly hampers your movements. I used it often on Wizzly as a wf wizard though when he would tank raid bosses.

That's pretty much exactly what it's for. I have one you can borrow to test out if you like.

That doesn't work anymore. It was nerfed in U6.

U5 when they nerfed tumble in relation to other slowing effects they left the DoD proc alone, did they change that in U6? Haven't used mine in awhile.

The Docent of Defiance will lock you in place if it procs when you are under an effect that inhibits movement (Ice Storm, Sleet Storm, Acid Fog, Tendon Slice, etc...).

I think Freedom of Movement will help some of those, but not all - I recently got the Delving Boots, but haven't had time to experiment. I switch to a different docent when movement is essential, but I wouldn't give up the DoD.

There are plenty of places where I'd much rather have 20/- DR over the ability to run around like a headless chicken.

The worst thing about the Dod (IMHO) is the need to bind it to a character if you plan on using it much - it takes damage pretty quickly.
