    Default Yugo Intelligence Pots

On the whole the devs did a great job with the pots in general. They provide a boost in an area with a hidden drawback in another. Unfortunately as we all know the Int pots are the exception to this. a -50% fortification is a massive drawback that stops almost everyone from using it. If the song of recklesness is dangerous this pot is far more so. I agree that there should be a signifcant drawback to each of these pots but believe that this one should definitely be a priority.
Even a -2 to all physical stats would be better than this.

btw a read by a dev would be very nice on this one...

wizards are not supposed to be exposed to damage too much, rogues maybe but they don't need the int as much.
extra int is a big advantage in that a +1 or +2 to the spell DC can cut wasting sp and turn the tide of the battle.

Cha Yugo pots are also somewhat dangerous as -4 to fort save hurts for most races but warforged and dwarves. I orginaly wanted to use INT pots for the sp regen... but 1 SP every 6 seconds wouldn't make much of a dent at all. About only way they'd see large use is in low level TR's.

Since when do Wizards even have fortification? I don't think this is a problem.

My wizard sits around 225% fort these days.

I need to swap my gear now that Lich form is useful.

Then why isn't the penalty on Cha pots (almost the same thing for sorcerers, but also a penalty for several other types of characters) not even in the same ballpark as being as severe as this?

    Really?

I enjoy not getting extra damage from critical hits and sneak attacks. EVERY character should have the best fortification that they can find as soon as possible, whether they're a front line Fighter or a back line Wizard or even a healbot Cleric.

It's the single most effective means of damage mitigation available in the game in just one gear slot.

How? I can see 175% with WF + Heavy Fortification + Lich, but where is the other 50% coming from?

Precious uses the Int pots quite a bit at high levels/epics. Just not when he's expecting to be surrounded by a bunch of mobs.

The trickle of spell points and the small boost to his spells is worth the 75% fort for most of the content he runs, and he can cure away the occasional crit.

I agree completely, sorcerers suffer a measly 4 fortitude save for the exact same bonuses that a wizard gets for, except a wizard that doesn't go pale master can no be crittable; nice. This is plain rediculous in my opinion. I don't care what wizard you are playing, the fortification granted by pale master does not justify the discrimination in yugo pot usage. This doesn't mean that you should suffer 50% penalty to fortification for choosing archmage, or going wizard at all. It is just plain stupid.

Especially as a warforged, a warforged pale master is a bit contradictory in nature, considering that you already bare the self healing and some of the immunities granted by some of the PM forms. If you want to go pale master, go drow or human, at least you have a bit higher DC's. Walking around with a 75% fort as a wiz with the exact same benefit as a 100% fort sorc isn't exactly what i call stat balance between classes. 4 fortitude reduction on a warforged is a laughable detriment for the benefits on a sorc.

    Yep.

This is just another example of how WF are the master race. Anyone that has played for any real length of time knows that fortification is critically necessary (sorry, yes, the pun was intended). They would also know that 50% versus 75% fortification (re: Yugo Int pot) is definitely a serious advantage. Beyond even that, the ability to quickly recover from the outcome of a lowered fortification to the tune of an enhancement line augmented and maximized / empowered reconstruct confirms WF, yet again, as the most preferred caster race.

Don’t get me wrong. I have a WF caster (wizzie) along with my drow wizzies and sorc, but this is getting silly. WF so outclass any other race in the role of caster that it is hardly surprising that fleshy casters are, to some degree, shunned by those that prefer the highest of end game content.

It is time to give the meat-bag races something – anything to begin leveling the field. No, a PrE that any race can take does not do it. Drow need their SR, Elves need their inherent SP enhancement line beefed up and Halflings, well, I dunno – make them taller or something. I never play em, dunno what their existing strengths are. But for goodness sake, do SOMETHING to even things up just a bit!

Sorry for the minor derailing – but I think all of the nonWF wizzies out there agree: it’s time for the fleshies to get a bit of a boost.

    It's very easy to achieve.
    100% Heavy Fort, +100% Lich or Wraith Form = +200% (Yugo potion -50%) = 150%

I have changed my gear to use the Head of Good Fortune (75% Fortification) which still keeps me at 125% Fort with the potions in Undead Form (which I stay in all the time)

Nope, didn't know that (me WF is still a tad on the lowbie side). I think I had heard it but I tend to forget things I don't need to know and until recently I didn't. Anyway, I'd say thanks for the info because that's definately a good thing to be aware of but I detect a note of jerkiness in your tone so I'll withhold that for now.

I will, however, wish you a good day, sir
